Readying everyone to leave took longer than expected, night fell while they tried to assemble the masses into some kind of order. Some of the ex-prisoners were unresponsive and Cyan was still trying to figure out what to do with them. It appeared they were from all walks of life, from all over Esothiea, some remembered their lives and some just didn't have the wits about them to speak.
Florence tried to help in any way she could, her experiences on her travels made her more educated on their mannerisms or actions. But for some of the less reactive ones it was just impossible. Cyan had made the decision to keep the worst two within the rebels protection and company while they recovered.
The children were somewhat easier, the little boy remembered his mother and knew he was from Nuplax. Florence had recollections of a woman looking for her missing son and the thought that it might be the same one gave her chills. The little girl however, was slightly more complicated, she told them she didn't have parents and she lived in a shanty town with other little children, she thought it might have been in Othon.
Cyan didn't hesitate in asking the little girl if she wanted to stay with them instead of being taken home. The little girl looked like all her birthdays had come at once. She hugged Cyan so tightly she nearly knocked her over which only made Cyan chortle loudly. Florence had the wonderful feeling the little girl would be more than just a new addition to the rebels, the idea of a better life for her and Cyan made Florence extremely happy.
Rikari and Cyan had also finished working on the recording Quentin had captured on the drone; Cyan looked pleased with their result and determined to do some good with it. Nobody else had seen it yet, Cyan said she wanted a real reaction from everyone who saw it for the first time. That had been the last thing to be finished and now it was time to go, the plan was to head to the outskirts of Blackford. There they would discuss further plans for themselves and the rest of the Domain, Cyan made it perfectly clear she wasn't finished with it.
Florence had everything in hand for their little group. She'd made sure the others had what they needed before she walked out with the cats and Skyrah. Quentin and Hunter walked in front, holding Quentin's brother carefully between them. When they exited the building, Cyan was stood in the street with six carriages lined up behind her. The roofs had been ripped off and the sides stripped so they could see straight through. Florence knew somehow that it was for the sake of the ex-prisoners and Cyan confirmed her thoughts.
"I don't want any of ya to ever feel caged up or stuck with nowhere ter go. Ya can jump in the carriages or ya can walk with us, and ya can change ya mind whenever ya want."
Florence stared proudly at Cyan and led the way down the stairs towards the carriages, she was shocked however, to see the contents of the sixth carriage.
All eleven priests were tied and gagged in the back, each one had cuts and bruises on their faces. They were all looking a little worse for wear, their expressions were full of worry and fear for what was an unknown fate. Florence almost found herself feeling sympathy for them, but she caught a glimpse of Skyrah's expression beside her and all sympathy for those monstrosities dissolved.
Skyrah stared at them, her emotions changing so quickly it was hard to keep up; hurt, rage, confusion, sadness, fear. Florence saw her rubbing her wrists where the shackles had been and rage seemed to win out in her emotions. Florence moved to block their eye contact and gestured with her head.
"Come on, you don't need to see them ever again." And Florence led her little group towards the front of the convoy.
"Do you want to ride in the carriage?" Florence asked Skyrah while she threw their things into the back of the second carriage in line.
