Moments later the aircraft was taking off and with it went the strange lights surrounding them. They must have been connected to the aircraft in some way. Which just left the five of them standing in the middle of who-knows-where, in the dead of night.

"We should find a town nearby and figure out where we are."

"I can do that here, but either one of the pilots could have at least given us a map location before they left." Quentin responded, he sounded annoyed.

He pulled something out of his bag and a small light flickered into life. His mobile telephone had somehow lasted all this time, when Florence questioned him on it, he laughed.

"I charged it on the biplane while you were sleeping, it should be fine for the next few days."

Florence nodded and felt cat bodies rubbing against her legs. She peered down but she couldn't see anything except pin sized lights reflected in their eyes. She leaned down to stroke each of their heads, reassurance for her and for them, while Quentin tapped away at his telephone. Florence had a rough idea of where they should be heading and Miyah had explained what to do with the things they'd provided. But none of those could help right now, Florence knew it wouldn't go smoothly- it hadn't so far.

"Okay, according to my locator report, we're here." Quentin pointed to the digital map and Florence squinted at the screen.

"So there's a town a few miles from here that we can make a brief stop at to get our bearings?"

"Yes that's right, I just hope the Onslaught hasn't reached there already."

Florence shared his concern, they had no idea how fast this thing could spread and where or how it would affect each place. They had to be extra careful from now onwards. They began to walk in the direction of the nearest town. Quentin kept his telephone out and Florence followed him by the light it emitted. They were in the middle of a large field, though Florence couldn't see the edges through the darkness, it had to be large enough to land an aircraft with no problems.

After a while they came to a low wall at the edge of the field, Quentin helped Florence over and a few more minutes of walking led to a dramatic change in scenery. Streetlamps began to come into view, only they looked much more modern than the ones in Teridia. The rooftops of houses sprang up from around tree canopies a few seconds later; there was a town here that didn't show up on Quentin's locator.

"This seems a little weird even for us, should we stay or pass right through?"

By the light of his telephone, Quentin looked anxious and Florence had to admit she shared his worries.

"We can stay for a few minutes, they may have some transportation we can buy or use."

Quentin looked like he was about to disagree with her decision when a loud call stopped him.

"What are you doing out here at such a time?"

They both turned to see a woman standing in the doorway of the nearest, red bricked house.

"We're a little lost, we didn't know there was a curfew!" Florence called back, she knew it was best to play innocent instead of appearing suspicious.

"Didn't you hear the storm warning? You better get inside and rather quickly too!"

Florence walked towards the woman, "We're not from around here, is there an inn nearby?"

"No, there isn't one for a few fields, you won't make it once the storm hits. Please, come inside."

She gestured towards her own home and Florence knew Quentin was looking to her for instruction. The cats meowed and Florence knew what they were trying to say, she whispered their thoughts to Quentin.
