Hanna's POV...

"Wow. So you can actually walk on your own now?" I asked Caleb as he hobbled into my hospital room on crutches. I have been in the hospital for two weeks in total now and Caleb got discharged a couple of days ago.

"Barely." He huffed and slumped in the chair with a loud bang, probably because he can't yet lower himself slowly. He winced and then looked at me with a big smile so he looked like a total idiot.

"Well done." I smiled, "Where's my kiss? I haven't seen you in two days." I whined and stuck my bottom lip out. He rolled his eyes playfully and got up, wobbling a bit and then slumping on my bed just like he did the chair. "I was joking, you idiot." I laughed and shuffled over a bit.

"You say that now?" He raised his eyebrows and placed a sloppy, chaste kiss on my lips. Now it was my turn to smile like an idiot. "I missed you."

"How can you miss this?" I laughed and gestured towards myself, "I haven't showered in about a week, they won't let me brush my teeth with mint toothpaste so I taste like two year olds and yesterday I had to pee in one of those things guys have to pee in when they're in hospital. It must be so much easier when you're a guy." I huffed.

"I bet it is." He smirked as he imagined it, "But you're still so beautiful." He said in a husky voice and tucked a stray piece of hair behind my ear. I gently pulled his head down to my lips and kissed him. After about a minute, it turned into a full make out session as our tongues tied together in pure love and satisfaction. Eventually I pulled away in need of air, "I love you."

"I love you too, Caleb." I replied and got that funny feeling in my stomach that I get every time we exchange those three very special words. "What's in the bag?" I asked, turning my attention to the backpack he had on his shoulder when he walked in.

"Well," He lifted it up and placed it carefully on my knee as not to hurt me. To be fair, I was covered from head to toe in cuts and bruises. I unzipped the bag and peered inside.

"I brought a load of your favourite movies because you can't use Netflix in this hell hole, a jumper of mine that was in your wardrobe, which can I just say is my favourite so I'm quite offended you stole it," I laughed, remembering the time I snuck into his room to get it after it going back and forth between our houses for months on end. "I also got you your slippers and chocolate." He smiled.

"Can't eat yet, babe."

"Oh, right, yeah. Sorry. I'll have that then." He smirked and I huffed. "What?" He asked when I rolled my eyes.

"Nothing." I said, quickly and wiped a tear that fell without me realising.

"Princess, what's wrong?" He asked. Lifting me up carefully, he sat on my bed and put me on his lap. "Come on, this isn't just about food. I know you love it but it's not. Talk to me." He said and drew lazy circles on my back.

"I-I just. Um... everything is just so messed up. W-why is my life like this? I must have done some really fucked up to deserve this." I explained and let a few more tears fall.

"You've done nothing to deserve this. You deserve the world and more, Hanna. Please don't think that's not true." He whispered and kissed my shoulder.

"But people always say you get what you deserve. So obviously I do."

"No. You don't."

"Do you know what I wish we could do? I wish we could go somewhere. Cali!" My face lit up ever so slightly at the thought of California. "I mean, we can't but... it would be so nice. Just you, me and the road." He smiled up at me, "Maybe one day." I looked down.
