Hanna's POV...

Slowly, I opened my eyes. The scene before me could only be described as horrific. Terrifying... Unbelievable. One of my best friends, lying on the floor with a bullet hole in his shoulder. Doing my best to push away my panic, I tried as hard as I could to push Caleb away from me. He wouldn't let me go.

"Please! We need to help him!" I begged, even though I could clearly see about five people crowded around him.

"No, Hanna. –A's still out there." He said sternly and tightened his arms around me and trying his hardest to turn my face away from what was going on but I wouldn't let him. He's right, -A's still outside the classroom, I can see their shadow through the broken glass. But he's my best friend. It's not fair to just stand here and do nothing.

"Please, Caleb, we need to do something! Let me go, please." I begged some more.

"I just promised you that I wouldn't let anything happen to you so no, I'm not letting you go. Not until it's safe." He said. But he's your best friend too, Caleb. Don't you want to help him? Spencer was freaking out beyond belief with Toby's head on her lap. He was conscious, but notably in excruciating pain as he struggled to keep his eyes open. Aria was next to them too, trying her best to help whilst Ezra focused on the other victim, Lisa, on the floor. Alison, however was behind Ezra's desk with a few other girls.

I was sent into even more panic when I saw the hooded figure reappear at the classroom door. A girl closer to the door pointed it out so that everyone was aware. Caleb turned his head, just enough to see the door and pushed us against the wall even tighter. I felt him press a soft kiss against my hairline as people began to wail in fright. I didn't realise I was the one doing so until Caleb started shushing me. I continued watching –A, then he pulled out his gun again and pointed it through the window. That's when it hit me; the gun's pointed at us. Well, it's me or Caleb. But either way, it's going to hit him. He's covering me and it's pretty damn cleat that –A is going to shoot him.

"CALEB, MOVE!" I shouted, finally getting the strength to push him away from me. He fell to the floor with a bang, followed by me lying on the floor too, hopefully out of the sight of –A. He put his body over me, away from sight. Then, the third gunshot of the evening rang through the air and I heard a loud groan. Slowly, I looked up to see a bullet hole go through Caleb's foot. Well at least it isn't his spleen. Again. I immediately pulled myself up and took my jacket off as fast as I possibly could and holding it over his foot.

"Hanna." I heard him say. I looked up with tears in my eyes due to the amount of suffering I'm causing him. "Get down." He said trying to pull me next to him. "It's still not safe." Still. He still doesn't want me in the eyesight of –A. When he's bleeding out.

"Caleb, no." I said, sternly and squeezed his hand. He lifted his head ever so slightly as to assess the damage.

"But that's your favourite jacket." He said with that cocky smirk on his face.

"I don't care."

"I'll buy you another one." He said, looking into my eyes.

"Good." I chuckled just a little bit at his sarcasm. His face turned into a frown when it became blatantly obvious that he realised something.

Caleb's POV...

That was when the conversation from a couple of months ago came back to me. The one before –A gave the girl the boxes with their 'surprises' in:

"I don't get it. What's -A going to do?" Ezra questioned.

"They're going to try and split us all up." Aria replied.
