I'm Tired of It

CALEB'S POV...

"Hanna, come on. You need to get up." I said, trying to be sympathetic but at the same time frustrated. That would be because she's not doing shit. "You've been like this for the past two days." And she has. After what happened with her father, Hanna has spent the last two days in bed, practically only moving to pee, get medicine or pull the covers further over her head. If that was possible. "And it's not getting you anywhere. You're supposed to be going back to school tomorrow, too. So if you don't get up," I pulled the duvet off her so it landed in a pile on the floor. "you'll get at least five detentions from your five different periods. And I'm sure you don't want that."

"Caleb... I'm seriously warning you, if you don't give me that goddamn blanket in about five seconds, I will kill you." She mentioned into the pillow.

"Go for it." I encouraged her, which proved effective when she finally got up, only to throw the pillow her head was resting on at me. I didn't move. I just let it hit me on the chest with a look on my face that only said, 'that's exactly what I expected.'

Now she was at least sat up, she put her head in her hands and sighed deeply.

"I don't want to." She muttered.

"I understand you're upset but-"

"I'm not upset. Just embarrassed. Really, really embarrassed."

"Of what?" I asked and leant against the frame of the bottom of the bed. She laughed out loud,

"You see, I should be embarrassed about my dad, right? But no, I'm embarrassed about this fucking huge bruise I've got."

"Yeah... It is pretty bad..." She glared at me and walked over to the wall mirror and sat down to begin applying her makeup. "I'm kidding. Put that gloopy thing on it. Should work." I suggested and sat behind her, wrapping my arms around her waist.

After a few minutes of silence, and Hanna looking through eyeshadows, I finally spoke, "Oh, um... Toby texted earlier, he, Spence, Aria, Em and I are doing that music thing together, obviously because we're in the same class but... we kinda' need a singer so..."

"So?"

"Will you do it?"

"You have got to be fucking joking." She said, setting her foundation down and looking at me in the mirror.

"No one else can sing but you."

"YOU TOLD THEM I CAN SING?!"

"It's either that or Toby fails his exam..." I said into her shoulder, afraid of her reaction.

"What song is it?"

"'I'll Be There by Jess Glynne. Acoustic version."

"And what's everyone's role in this?"

"Toby - guitar, Aria, Spencer and Emily - backup singers, and you, hopefully, main singer..."

"And you?"

"Oh, I just sit there and pretend I've done something." I smiled.

"So I get best 'till last?"

"Basically, yeah."

"There is no way in hell I'm singing." She decided, clearly adamant. I knew then and there that there was no way I could change her mind.

"Fine. But you have to break it to Toby and get someone else to sing." I said and squeezed her shoulder before getting up and exiting the room.

HANNA'S POV...

Just as he was about to leave the room, he popped his head back in, "Hey how do you feel about good shopping later? There's nothing here." He asked, I smiled and nodded, eager to spend the day with him.
