It's as if the light had dried my tears.
My eyes open, only to see the three of us still standing in the cemetery holding hands. The three of us make awkward eye contact before simultaneously pulling our hands free. Damon lets out an awkward cough.
"Well...that got awkward fast," Damon comments, looking around. I do the same, noting the graves of those who've died. Everything looks the same. The main difference is that it's daytime. When we died, it was night.
Can I even say we died? We're still here, aren't we? I feel more alive than I did as a ghost on the Other Side. Maybe we caught a break.
"What happened?" Bonnie questions, taking one step towards the iron fence she nearly died at. "Where is everybody?"
Bonnie marches off, making Damon raises his hands in question before following. I quickly follow into our little town.
"I still feel a fang so I'm a vampire," Damon comments, pulling his fingers away from his teeth. "Either we're dead vampires or Mystic Falls is no longer magic-free."
I check my fangs as well. Still there.
I shake my head, not believing his theory. "If Mystic Falls wasn't magic free, there'd still be other people."
"Look," Bonnie points. My eyes follow her line of sight, ending up on the Mystic Grill—still standing.
Damon frowns, looking at it skeptically. "I definitely blew that up about an hour ago."
"Why don't we see any people?" Bonnie asks, confused as she is frustrated. "If we're on the Other Side, we should at least be able to see the living."
"Maybe we're not on the Other Side?" I offer, looking around the empty streets. It's as if everything froze.
"Then where the hell are we?" Damon mumbles, turning in his spot. "And I don't mean geographically."
"I have no idea," Bonnie admits.

Maybe thirty minutes passed before I decided we were not on the Other Side. The three of us have been navigating the streets, searching for any clues that might hint to where we actually are.
"Ugh, how many more streets are we going to wander?" Damon whines, his jacket sling over his shoulder in boredom.
"How many times are you gonna ask questions neither of us know the answer to?" I snap, giving him a small glare.
A few moments are spent in silence.
"There's something weird about these cars," Bonnie points out, making me really look at them. She's right. I may not know cars, but there isn't anything that's younger than a year 2000.
"They look old," I comment.
"Yet brand-spanking new," Damon adds, inspecting the car beside us. He suddenly pauses, looking forward at the two story white wooden house I was raised in.
The sight of my house really makes me frown. "That's my house," I mumble, taking a step forward. The last time I stepped on this lawn was when Stefan was dragging me across it. I was kicking and screaming—begging to save my house and my brother's body. "Guys, why is my house not burnt to ashes?"
Damon steps beside me, swiping a newspaper off of the sidewalk. A newspaper? He opens it before frowning. Bonnie and I wait expectantly.
"Look.," he says, flipping it so we can see.
