I've been awake for nearly ten minutes now, but I can't bring myself to move or even open my eyes. How can I when the man laying beside me is touching me so gently?

Klaus's fingers gently run through my curls, separating the curls wrapped around each other without yanking my hair. I'm not sure how he does it because I can hardly take my hair without hurting myself.

It feels so nice. The way he's caressing me is so...intimate. No matter how angry or stressed he is over this Marcel and the baby business, he still manages to make me feel like I'm the only person he's focused on.

"Are you going to keep pretending you're asleep?" Klaus murmurs in my ear before nipping at it.

I can't help but chuckle at him before opening my eyes and turning to face him. "Good morning," I greet softly as he stares at me.

    "Good morning, love," he reciprocates.

I lean forward, initiating a short kiss before taking my time to simply stare at him because he is absolutely beautiful.

"You're staring," he notes after a few moments, making me smile.

"So are you," I retort. I shift my position, allowing me to sit on his hips. I'm still...exposed...from last night, but I don't bother trying to hide myself with the cover. I gently scrape my nails against his chest, making him smile as he looks up at me. "See something you like?"

"Most definitely," he answers immediately, but he doesn't take his eyes off my face. He sits up, unintentionally pressing our chests together as he kisses me. If I had a heartbeat, it'd be beating so fast right now. He barely pulls away, lips grazing mine as he says, "We can't indulge right now, unfortunately."

I pull away a little more so I can look him in the eye. "Another plan, already?"

"Hayley was attacked last night by a group of witches only to be saved by a werewolf," he explains, brows furrowing at the thought.

I frown. "A werewolf? Was it a full moon last night?"

"No, but I'm more concerned about Sophie Deveraux's lack of honor."

I nod. "Okay, so how are we going to approach this?" My question makes Klaus give a genuine smile rather than that diabolical smirk I'm used to seeing.

"Simple," he admits, rubbing along my sides. "I go to Rousseau's and invite her here."

"So...kidnapping?" I clarify, reading between the lines. I cup his face, rubbing my thumb along his cheekbone. "Not sure how I feel about you handling another woman."

"I'm sure she'll come with me willingly, so there's no need to "handle" anyone, as you so politely put it," he remarks.

That's not the answer I want to hear.

"Hmm," I hum before moving my thumb to his chin. I lean forward to kiss him, using my thumb to open his mouth just a little more so I can deepen our kiss. I can still taste last night and as gross as that sounds it actually felt really hot to realize.

His hands rest on my waist before tightening as I work my magic. I know I'm successful at the sound of a stifled moan when my hips move just a little.
