I woke up the next morning remembering what was said before I fell asleep. My head throbbed and I felt the headache but I didnt have any memory problems with remembering what Ashlee had said.
I went to the bathroom and popped an asprin before brushing my teeth and combing my hair. When I came back to my bedroom Ashlee was still sleeping. I picked up the book I had intended to read before Ashlee's suprise visit.
I was on chapter four when Ashlee's body began stirring and she started stretching. She let out a grumbled moan and opened her eyes. She managed to always look beautiful when waking up. Even with her hair a static mess and crusties in her eyes she still managed to be pretty.
"Goodmorning gorgeous." I said from behind my book. She grumbled.
"I need water." She said groggily as she headed toward the bathroom. I heard her puking a few minutes later. Guess she got more wasted than I did.
When she came back into the room she laid back down on the bed and got underneath the covers.
"So I guess you're not gonna give me a ride to school then?" I asked her.
"It's fucking Saturday!" She mumbled.
"Yeah I have a track meet." I replied. She didnt reply and a few minutes later I could hear her soft snoring.
"That's what I'm here for." Came a voice from the doorway. It was my dad.
"Oh hey." I said with a smile as I got up. "I didn't realize you would be here this late." I said quickly. My dad is usually gone for work when its still dark outside in the early morning hours.
"Not today. I cancelled my flight today. Im going to try and be home more with what's happening in town here. I dont want you to feel unsafe. And since you refuse to have someone here with you-"
"Im a little old for a babysitter dont you think dad?" I replied with obvious irritation. I am not having THIS conversation again. "Considering the fact that I have my OWN babysitting jobs in summer seems kind of redundent to get a babysitter for the neighborhood babysitter." I added as I began going through my dresser and closet for my shirt and gym shorts.
"Okay watch the attitude. What's wrong with Ashlee." He asked staring at the large lump of covers on the bed.
"She's feeling kind of sick. We both finished a big jar of pickles last night." I said innocently. I heard Ashlee giggle from underneath the blankets. "Well I'm going to get dressed real quick. I'll meet you in the car in ten minutes." I told my dad. He eyed me specatively before nodding and softly shutting the door as he left.
I grabbed the covers and yanked them off Ashlee.
"Hey!" Ashlee said as she tried yanking them back from me. "Im way too hungover for this!" She added before I let go of the blanket.
"So how are you going to find Ty?" I asked Ashlee as shrugged out of my pajamas and into clothes.
"What are you talking about?" Ashlee replied unenthused her voice muffled from being deep in the pillow and underneath the blankets again.
"You told me last night you could find Ty. And some other weird shit." I said as I slipped socks on.
"What weird shit." Ashlee said. Her body was stiff and still underneath the blanket and her voice didnt sound groggy anymore.
"I dunno just stuff about magic and our blood and some other nonsense." I said slowly. Ashlee threw the blankets off and looked at me.
"You're not supposed to know that yet." She said looking bewildered.
