As we made our way around the corner of the semi, Doyle was suspended in mid air. His arms and legs pulled straight away from him as if his limbs were being pulled in opposite directions. The blue mist that hung around him had a dark navy color and pulsed in the air.

"Do you suddenly have the ability to not feel physical pain Doyle?" The Boss's quiet voice asked menacingly. Doyle was grunting in pain his fanged mouth open.

"You-know what would have happened if I didn't bring an offering." Doyle managed to choke out.

"So you're just stupid then? You think you have more to fear from the royals than you do me?" The Boss's voice was slightly louder, the loud buzzing mist that surrounded Doyle swarmed around him like angry wasps. Doyle's eyes bulged before blood exploded in the air like a firework. Doyle's limbs had been ripped off, the blood gushing from his wounds surrounding him in the air like smoke.

I looked at Dominik who stood perfectly still with his hands at his sides as he waited patiently when the Boss glanced over at him.

"What is it?" He muttered as his fingers began threading the air and Doyle's limbs began to melt back to where they belonged.

"I would like to go home with my human." Dominik said his voice calm as if he wasn't casually talking to a psychopath who was brutally torturing someone.

"I suppose I don't need your help here Dominik. You may leave. I expect your presence again for the marking day." The Boss said eyeing him.

"Yes Sir." Dominik replied keeping eye contact. The Boss nodded and returned his attention to the now completely healed Doyle. The Boss flicked his wrist and Doyle screamed as he burst into blue flames. He was extinguished within seconds but as his skin finished healing he engulfed in flames again.

"Why doesn't he just kill him?" I asked Dominik as we were out of earshot.

"The Boss can't kill him. Just like in the human world there are laws here. Only vampires can kill a vampire, only wolves can kill wolves and you get the idea right?" Dominik asked looking back at me. I nodded as I followed him though the busy street we walked down.

The monsters were enjoying their recent prizes they bid for. Bodies of the discarded littered the streets and we had to step over the dead or dying. Occasionally eyes of the crowd would look in my direction but their eyes would slide right past me as if I were invisible. I guess wearing sweatpants and a large t shirt wasn't as appealing as the naked people they were passing around.

"What moron would want to work for someone who can torture them then?" I muttered under my breath.

"Doyle doesn't just work for him, none of us do." Dominik answered. "Humans are not the only ones that can be bought and sold." Dominik added in a pensive tone.

Ten minutes later and we had walked to a darker area of town. There were just as much people out but less light and little to no noise the atmosphere was different here. Dominik had moved me to where I was walking in front of him as he weaved me through the dark city.

"How much for the virgin?" Came a cackled voice from behind us. Dominik kept walking, I stole a quick glance and saw an old man with a large toothy grin his mouth full of sharp and crooked fangs that looked similar to a shark's mouth.

"Don't look at anyone." Dominik whispered in my ear. "Keep your head down and move where I move you." Dominik instructed in a soft whisper in my ear. We were walking up to a dark building that hummed with activity that got louder the closer we were.

A handful of people were standing outside smoking. Dominik led me up the dark concrete steps as a red haired vampire flashed me her fangs with a wink when she blew out smoke.

The doors swung open and the bright light burned my eyes. The music was in the background as the loud conversations, laughter and gambling machines beeping dominated the building. We made our way through the crowd of people Dominik guiding me, he held onto my wrist pulling me along. Strange groups of people sat at tables, smoking and drinking from naked humans that walked around the casino like zombies wearing only black neckbands and a black tattoo from their neck down their backbone that looked similar to the one I had.

My eyes made contact with a man with bright green eyes. He sat at a table with four gorgeous women around him. Each of them either rubbing, kissing, or stroking him in some way. I tried to tear my eyes away but felt an immediate and desirous pull toward him. I ripped away from Dominik and began walking toward the man dazed and hypnotized. The world around me was moving fast as we stared at each other in slow motion.

My eyes glued to every piece that was him. The way he held himself to the way his white hair glowed in the dark. HE WAS THE MOST GORGEOUS MAN I HAD EVER SEEN. He smiled at me and my heart fluttered as I collapsed to my knees at his feet.

"You smell good little human." He said leaning forward to me, his voice was soothing and song like. I had the urge to touch him. To have him touch me. I was literally ripping off my large dark shirt for him. A small smirk pulled the corner of his lips before quickly being replaced by bored disinterest as Dominik began pulling me back to my feet.

He shoved a palm sized mirror in front of my face and I looked back at my reflection feeling my head becoming clearer. The loud and demanding lustful thoughts slowly receding away to nothingness.

I looked up expecting Dominik to be angry but he just watched me intently before taking his leather jacket off and sliding it onto my shoulders.

"I don't know what came over me.." I whispered embarrassed.

"Actually you were impressive for your first Siren's call." He said as he led me down the steps and back in the direction we had been going.

I bit back the urge to thank him. I just quietly let him lead me. The anger I felt against Dominik was still burning in my mind. But fear hung over me getting stronger with every step I took.

I don't know what the future holds for me, I don't even know what tonight holds for me but as I walked through the crowd of monsters keeping my eyes to the ground I made a promise to kill Dominik at the right time, find Tyrese and Ashlee, and escape Modella.

We went through doors in the back of the building where groups became smaller and not as active. Dominik made a sharp turn to the right through a red door that led to a long hallway. An elevator waited at the end of the hall and once we were inside he pressed a glowing number five button and the elevator shot upwards.

The dim lit elevator didn't have any music and it didn't ding once we arrived and the doors slid open. Stepping out into a narrow hallway Dominik stopped outside of room 550 and shoved a key into the lock. The door creaked open to pitch blackness. Dominik nodded to me to step inside. I hesitated and he lightly pushed me forward.

The lights flicked on as Dominik shut the door and locked it. He made his way to the kitchen and was grabbing a beer out of the fridge as I slowly walked over to the large couch. I sat on the soft fabric and felt my aching body relax. I hadn't realized how exhausted and sore I was. My eyelids became heavy and I couldn't push back the irresistible urge to sleep.
