A small bell was overheard behind us at the large platform, "Bring your offerings to the stage" The auctioneer's voice boomed. The man with the horned rimmed glasses and his two aquaintances walked into the center of the stage each carrying a small bundle in their arms. A large screen the size of a wide building suddenly flicked on and it was split into thirds each blacked out with white words the read CALLING HOSTS .
"I don't have time for games." The Boss instructed impatiently. "BE STILL" He waved a hand and I felt my body tense up before becoming numb and feeling asthough I was unattached to it completely. "This is my last warning, to all of you." He said staring at each of us before gracefully stepping off the trailer. As he did so Ashlee fell back to the ground on her feet, the blue mist gone and Dominik and Doyle let out a groan as their bodies began to bend back together again.
They composed themselves back to normal quickly as if nothing had happened. Dominik swung me over her shoulder and Doyle mimicked with Ashlee, smacking her ass as he did so.
"I promise I'll get you back for trying to murder me, ya fuckin cunt." He loudly whispered to Ashlee.
Dominik set me down on a patch of grass a few feet away from the lines of people. Doyle dropped Ashlee down next to me, her numb arms unable to catch herself from falling on her face. Dominik sighed and lifted Ashlee into a sitting position as Doyle walked away. Ashlee's nose was bleeding profusely it looked broken.
"You better fix the damage Doyle." Dominik growled. Doyle kept walking as if he hadn't heard anything. Dominik got up and was behind Doyle within a heartbeat. He grabbed Doyle from the back of his shirt and threw him to the ground.
"Fine I'll do it!" Doyle yelled fear edging his voice. He stomped over to Ashlee and pulled out a small flask from his pocket.
"Drink it slut." He said as he shoved it into Ashlee's mouth. I could hear her trying to gulp down the liquid her eyes wide as she began choking. Doyle continued to hold the flask, a disgusting smile spread on his face as he watched her.
"That's enough Doyle." Dominik said in a calm voice. Doyle put the flask back into his pocket after putting the lid back on.
"Was just havin a bit of fun." He said with a toothy grin. He walked away with Dominik following behind him. Ashlee began healing her swollen face going back to normal, but the dried blood remained.
A loud cheering was heard and I looked back towards the screen. On the far left there were two beautiful twin sisters that looked to be as young as Ashlee and I. They had long dark braided hair and glowing ebony skin, white gowns with gold embroidering. They sat in a large tree where the branches formed a beautiful throne with bright colored flowers and foliage surrounding them.
In the middle there was a man who looked as large as he did strong. He seemed to be in his late forties. He had dark red eyes and long dark hair with strands of silver, his face had once been handsome but deep dark scars lined his face in various places. He wore a grizzly bear fur as he sat on his throne of bones, skulls with silver and black swords and axes on a wall behind him.
The last screen on the far right was bright white with a handsome black haired man in his thirties wearing an all black suit and tie and gorgeous white haired woman who looked slightly younger wearing black ballroom gown. They both wore white crowns that glittered with white diamonds and crystals, their thrones equally as white and decorated.
"Gregory, what is your offering for the Queens you serve?" The speaker asked as he began speaking the cheering hushed to silence. The man in the horn rimmed glasses stepped forward uncovering a newborn baby wrapped in the blanket.
"A Three day old human child" He said kneeling down with the child held in front of him. The two sisters nodded in unison their expression neither pleased or displeased.
"Salvatore, what is your offering for the King you serve?" A man stepped forward holding a baby.
"A three day old human child." He held the child out in front of him.
"What the hell am I going to do with that?" Came a deep Russian voice from the man sitting in the middle of the screen.
"Sasha" came a whisper, it wasn't spoken out loud but in my head. "Can you hear me?" Came Ashlee's voice again.
"Yes, how are you doing that?" I thought back to her. I tried to will myself to turn more to her but my body would not obey.
"Grandma mentioned it but I never tried it until now." Ashlee's voice rambled softly. "That doesn't matter right now. Do you see what they're doing out there? All these people sold off like this? We need to get out of here."
"You heard the Boss, he said anything else happens and he's killing us all. Maybe we should just wait and plan our next move carefully..." I felt anxiety thinking about the way his hands moved so easily as he broke Dominik and Doyle's bones with his magic.
"You sound just like his thugs. Don't call him that. He's a kidnapping sadist asshole. What if we don't have time to wait and plan our next move? Look at that girl from the first bidding."
I scanned the large crowd unable to make out anyone familiar from the first group. Then as Ashlee sensed my thought she began broadcasting what she was seeing in my mind. The young thirteen year old was naked and being tossed around a group of twenty or so men who were taking bites out of her laughing and talking as if they were enjoying cocktails at a bar. She moved around them in that same dream like state looking asthough she couldn't feel it as they tore into her.
"What the fuck?! I dont want to see anymore!" Tears rolled down my face as I began noticing similar scenarios in the sea of people. I started to hyperventalate as The Boss began to wave a hand over the faces of people in line. They began to move and look like the group of girls from Argentina. The strange dream like state made them sway slightly, their eyes half lidded and their faces serene. A faint blue midst hovered around them.
"Where's Ty?" I thought anxiously my eyes darting down the lines unable to make out people in the front due to the darkness. My feet tingled and I felt pins and needles all over. The numb feeling was almost non existant as I moved my foot.
"Im starting to feel my legs." I told her outloud. I heard her gasp in my mind. Doyle was walking in our direction so I tried to remain as still as possible. He passed by us with only a hateful glance at Ashlee.
"How did you do that!?" Ashlee exclaimed in my mind.
"I don't know how I did it." I thought to her apologetically.
"Well that's helpful Sasha!"
"Im sorry! I'll start to drag you okay? We're close enough together that they wont notice if I drag you slow to begin with. But at some point we'll have to make a run for it so concentrate on moving." I said as I scooted a fraction closer to her so we were shoulder to shoulder. I couldn't see her face anymore as I slowly began to move so I was behind her. I wrapped my arms in hers and began to drag us away from the lit area near the trucks.
The lines of people began moving as the crowd was bidding on one of The Boss's lot. A few people I recognized and some must have been on a different trailer. I kept my eyes peeled for Ty. We had moved a foot or so, Ashlee had begun sweating from concentrating.
"Feel anything yet?" I thought to her as I dragged us another few inches. She let out an irritated grumble. "Well that's progress!" I told her encouragingly.
Doyle made his way over to us and my body became rigid and I tried to look motionless. He eyed us noticing our arms interlocked. He had a handful of cloth in one of his hands. He ripped Ashlee from me and hoisted her up over his shoulder again and walked away.
"Ashlee!" I cried out to her in my mind, I felt panic as I watched her get carried away the link in our minds becoming faint the farther she went. I stood up to chase after her when I felt arms around me.
"You're going to get everyone killed." I felt a hot whisper in my ear. Dominik tightened his grip on me and held my arms to my sides. "You're making me do this." He whispered.
