"C'mon let's go to your room." Ashlee said in a flat tone that broke the silence that hung in the air in front of me. I followed her down the hall to my room. As we entered the room the window was open. I went over to it and shut it not bothering to ask her if she opened it. After shutting the window I heard the door to my room shut.

"DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT." Ashlee commanded in a whisper.

"What?" I asked.

"Dont tell him. That's what all parents say when they want you to tell them- then they freak out and ground you. My mom pulls that shit all the time." She said as she plopped down onto my bed.

"What if I am a suspect?" I asked horrified.

"I doubt it. Ty was a tall and muscular athlete at your school. I dont think they are seriously considering the meek geek sophmore could over power him." She answered matter of factly. "Just relax. Your story sounded good to me."

"But I feel like I should be helping the police. They need to know exactly what happened so they can find his murderer." I grumbled.

"Well you wanna help? We can talk to him and find out who killed him." Ashlee said with a mischievious grin on her face.

"What are you talking about?"

"We can like do a ouiji board and talk to him." She said getting up and grabbing my backpack up by the door and fishing out my wallet and counting the money in it. "This should be enough."

"Ashlee this is serious. Not the time to be doing dumb slumber party games from middle school. What, you wanna braid hair and watch movies all night too?" I sarcastically added.

"Shut up. Let's go buy a board and seriously do this. Im not talking any game you've ever played with your stupid ass friends. I've already spilled the beans about what we are. You're just taking forever to catch on and be excited about it." Ashlee was talking while moving around the room. She had grabbed her phone and was texting then grabbing the chair infront of my computer desk and putting it under my door knob so no one could get it. She turned on the tv and put on "That 70s show" and increased the volume.

"What are you doing?" I sighed.

"I saw some ouiji boards in walmart, but I don't think your dad is gonna let you go anywhere at the moment so we'll sneak out real quick." She said opening the window soundlessly.

"We can't walk there and be quick about it. Besides I don't really feel like getting in any more trouble than I already am." I slouched against the wall making it clear I didnt feel like going.

"Innocent until proven guiltly couz. Now stop being a pussy and let's go." Her phone beeped, she looked down at her phone and quickly went through the window and landed gracefully on the ground below her. "That's the uber I texted theyre down the street waiting c'mon." Ashlee said quickly and disappeared from outside the window. I heaved a sigh and quickly climbed out the window. Landing not so gracefully on the ground below and cursing under my breath.

When we slid back into my bedroom through the window my heart was beating fast with the anticiption that my father had figured out we left and would be waiting angrily for us but my room was exactly how we had left it a new episode of that 70's show was beginning.

"Why'd you tell him to come back at 8:30 tonight?" I asked Ashlee in a hushed voice as she shut the window behind her.

"Did you already forget about your date at nine?" Ashlee laughed. I thought about it for a moment then remembered Ashlee telling Jamie to be at body beach by nine.
