    Goth's P.O.V.

    Four days and Fresh finally got better. Finally, PaperJam could stop staying up all night watching over Fresh. Goth even tried to comfort him and make him get some sleep. Even Palette tried. And, well, that didn't go so well, did it?

    But, Goth has other things to worry about. He had a competition. Cray.

    Ever since Cray came into the group, Palette had been spending less time with him. Also, Goth, Cray, and Palette had to share a room, and that wasn't the best experience of his life.

    "So, how was it?" PaperJam had asked him after the first night.

    "Delightful," he sarcastically growled in response.

    Ever since, Goth and Cray had been having a little rivalry, and Palette didn't know about it. He noticed something odd about Fresh, though. Ever since they had left the void, the had been getting sick. And when they first found that out, Fresh had black stuff dripping from her face, and she seemed to be in a lot of pain. Of course, Goth was worried for her, but not as worried as PaperJam.

    Now, it was day seven, and ever since she got better, Fresh had started wearing black shades that Haven!Sans had given her that said "YOLO" on them instead of wearing her normal glasses. She also started wearing her cap mostly to the side. And sometimes in the morning, Goth would catch Fresh sneaking into the house, and every time Goth asked her what she was doing, she would say that she was going for a little walk and that she didn't want to wake anyone up. At first, Goth was kind of suspicious, but then he decided not to think anything of it. Also, Dream and Cross started getting into a lot of fights recently. Because of this, Goth was very worried about the group falling apart. In this case, Goth felt powerless.

    On this day, Goth was minding his own business, being the nerd he is. He was in the Snowdin library reading a book. Sure, it was spelt wrong, but that didn't stop him from going there everyday. He getting really into a book; it was very interesting. It was about all these AUs and their purpose. Suddenly, he heard a scream dome from outside. He jerked his head up, frightened. As he put the book back, he dashed outside, only to find the last thing he wanted to see: a white, icy-like substance flowing through Snowdin. His posture faltered, and he sighed in annoyance.

    "I love my life!" he hissed sarcastically. When he looked behind him, he saw his group far away from him, yelling his name. He froze as he realized one of them were missing.

    Cray.

    When he looked back in front of him, he saw Cray running towards him, but his pace was unusually slow. Goth saw that Cray's left leg was cut and blood was oozing out of it. Goth flung his gaze towards his group, then back to Cray. If he left Cray behind, he could have Palette all to himself. Goth vigorously shook his head, trying to clear out the selfish thought. Palette would never forgive him if Cray died. Goth ran towards Cray, hoping that the substance wouldn't catch up to him. Besides, Goth was used to having Cray around. Even though they have had some type of rivalry, he would kind of miss the guy. (Btw, this is not going to lead into a Goth X Cray thing. Please don't think that!😰) He picked up his pace, getting closer and closer to Cray. When Cray noticed that Goth was trying to help him, he narrowed his eyes and bared his teeth.

    "I don't need your help!" he hissed through the pain. "I can take care of myself!" Goth gave him an annoyed look and growled.

    "Look, dude, if I don't help ya, you'll die," he snapped. Cray gave him a confused look.

    "But I thought-!" Cray began. Goth cut him off, picking him up and running as fast as he could.

    "I know what your thinking, but I won't let anyone from the group die. Not if I can help it," he said calmly. Cray glared at him, then sighed. Once he reached the group, Cross opened a portal and jumped through it. The others were heasitant, but then they remembered that this was a matter of life and death. When Goth was about to leave, he felt a tap behind him. When he turned around, he saw Haven!Sans giving him a desperate look.

    "Stay safe, kid, okay?" he rasped before the icy stuff devored himas if he was an afternoon meal. His eyes went dark, and he fell to the ground, lifeless. Goth stared in disbelief, but then snapped back into reality when Cray shouted, "Earth to Goth! Come on! Don't let us die!" Goth ran through the portal as fast as he could, running into Palette. He dropped Cray, feeling pain flow through him, then disappear. When he lifted his head, he heard a scream behind him. He didn't have any time to examine the space around him, so he turned around, only to find a white tentacle come out from the portal. He quickly used his magic to create a red force field, taking away all of his energy. He collapsed, trying to stay awake. As his vision blurred, he saw a familiar face looming over him with worry in their eyes.

    "Gothy!" was all he heard before darkness devoured him.

~~~~Time skip to a few days later~~~~
    Goth slowly opened his eyes, his head throbbing in pain. It appeared that he was in a bedroom. When he glanced to the side, he found Palette, along with... Cray. He narrowed his eyes, too tired to say anything. When Palette laid her eyes on him, a smile appeared on her face.
    "How are you, Gothy?" she asked. Goth put on a fake smile, drawing his gaze towards her.
    "I'm fine," he rasped. "What happened... anyway...?" Palette glanced at Cray before explaining what happened.
    "Well, first, Cray went over to the door to the Ruins to vandalize it, so that's why he was late. He cut his leg while falling, causing him to be slow, so-!"
    "I get that," he muttered. "I mean, how did I get here?" Palette nodded her head.
    "Okay, so, Cray said that he had a friend who could help us, so he directed us to their universe, and here we are! Basically, he saved your life!" explained Palette. Goth shifted his gaze to Cray, his eyes growing wide in shock. First, he didn't realize how close to dying he was, and two, Cray had actually helped him.
    "Well, I guess I owe you one," he murmured. Cray glanced at him and sighed.
    "You already did, man," he said, turning his head to face him. "You saved me from that icy stuff, remember?" Goth narrowed his eyes.
    "He's, I do," he growled. "Anyway, where are we? I mean, which AU are we in?" he asked, sitting up. Cray and Palette exchanged sudden glances, then looked back at him.
    "To be honest, I don't know," confessed Cray. "But according to Cross, we're in an AU called Undershift."
