I never realized getting ready for a date with a dream demon would be a total nightmare.

What I mean is there was mess EVERYWHERE.

Clothes were scattered all across the floor, shoes toppled over and beauty essentials (optional) were all over the table. Talk about issues.

"I think I look good. Wait- no. I don't. Waitttt— do I, though?" I mumble to myself, thinking of the absolute worst. "B/f/n! I need you here!"

"What's up?" I hear her/him say behind me as I stare at my figure in the mirror.

"Do I look good?"

"You look fine, Y/n. Stop stressing out."

"Just fine though? I feel like I need a little more support, B/f/n."

"Okay, okay. You look great! Woo! You're going to nail this date!"

I smile to myself and mumble, "Yeah, I got this."

"Thanks." I look over my shoulder and give a bright toothy smile at b/f/n. She/he gives a thumbs up and walks out of the room.

I look around to see my mess, and shrug it off and give myself one final stare as I walk out the door to my bedroom outside. "He said he'd be here any minute.." I trail off and check my phone, seeing that the time read 5:58.

'Spare time I guess. What to do.....what to do-'

I then hear a knock on my door.

My anxiety builds as I call B/f/n.

"What now?" She/he asks as they roll their eyes. "Open the door, please?" "Why? It's not like it's the end of the world." "It is! Please?"

B/f/n lets out a groan and reaches for the door knob. I pace around and prepare for my "majestic entrance." I look in a mirror and sigh, fixing my hair and outfit. I hear mumbling and then B/f/n yell, "Y/n! Get your ass down here!"

I walk down the stairs, making sure I didn't trip because I knew if I did, everything would just fall apart and my love life would just crumble into pieces.

Bill gasps and lets a crooked smile show as I come down the final three steps. "I'm here," I let out with my voice quivering, clearly showing that my anxiety was growing.

"And you're looking as beautiful as ever." Bill winks at me and smirks, my face flushing beet red as we stare into each other's eyes.

"Ahem." We hear b/f/n say, snapping us out of our trance. I hum in response, and a glow illuminates his/her face. "Well, you guys could now get your date together, and finally not be alone!," she/he starts while pushing us out of the door.  When we were out in the evening sun, she said, "You'll thank me 19 kids later!," then slams the door.

Then silence came. Though, it was not the bad type, the good type. I start laughing and Bill did, too. I look at the door then at him, and grab his hand.

"Ready?" I say, smiling and looking into the woods. "Yeah," he says, seeming a little hesitant at first.

We walk hand in hand and talk about random topics, then it progressed to more personal ones, like close friends and family. The sun was down meaning we've been going on for about two to three hours or so, laughing and smiling along the way.

"...What was your family like?" I suddenly blurt out while looking ahead of the trail. Bill went silent, and then cleared his throat.

"Did I ask something I wasn't supposed to? Oh gosh, I'm sorry-!"

"No, it's fine. It's just...they're not with me anymore.."

"Oh. I, umm, I'm sorry to hear that..."

"No! Don't be! It- I guess it was just all my fault.."

"How?"

"I'd rather not say. An "accident" happened."

"Oh...okay."

It was slightly awkward for the rest of the night, but it quickly faded away when Bill started to make jokes and flirtatious comments. I laughed at them, of course, but the question of "how" still lingered in my mind and in the air as we walked hand in hand. The air seemed as if it was getting colder by the second, as if it felt what I was feeling.

"You know I love you?" Cipher says to me while we sat at a lake, leaving me surprised and flustered.

"Well, yes. I do know that. It's quite obvious."

"Good. Cause I want you to know that for the rest of your life."

I smile and look at his features that were being illuminated in the moonlight, spotting each feature and taking it in. He caught me and laughed, "Take a picture. It'll last longer, doll." I laughed as well and stood up. "It's getting late. We should go."

So, we did. Hand in hand back the way we first came. Talking more and more, laughing and smiling more than ever before helped calm my stress.

We soon reached my doorstep. I quickly check my phone and see that it was 11:56, then look at Bill.

"I had a great time with you, Cipher." I said, smiling at the ground. "I had an even more wonderful time with you, darling," Bill said and smiled at me.

Then he took my hand and cupped my cheek, lifting my head up and planting a passion-filled kiss on my lips. Joy spread throughout my body, but soon left as quickly as it came.

Silence came, the clock striking 12:00...

"Y/n, will you be my girlfriend..?"
