Chapter 35...

(Luca P.O.V)

 I KNEW I SHOULD OPEN MY EYES. I COULD feel the light shining in from the other side of my eyelids. But I was so comfortable under the warmth of the blanket, in my restful place, with him next to me, waiting. I squinted at him, lying across from me. He didn’t say anything. He just lay there watching me with a hint of a smile.

His skin was luminous with the light peering in through the large glass door behind him, the ever-present subtle flush of colour across his prominent cheekbones. I wanted to press the palm of my hand against the ruddiness, expecting to feel the warmth – but I resisted...

 ‘Now that all the heat and cofusion is over can I ask you one thing?’ His minty breath floated to my nose... Derek seemed hesitant...

Jerking my head, I encouraged to go on... I scooted closer to him, resting my head on his shoulder...

“What did you do that night?”

Gazing at him from the corner of my eyes, chuckled; expecting this question from him “What do you mean, Deriee” I asked innocently, blinking my eyes...

Derek groaned “You know what I mean, Luca”

I yelped in surprise as he hauled me on his lap, facing him... “Tell me, please”

I giggled, clumping my lips together, then leaned forward and places a chastely kiss on his lips and pulled back... “I blood bonded with you, it is a way vampie’s mate sharing blood and I hope you can feel me in a different way, like i can” I averted my gaze and placed my palm over his heart “It’s deep, my mother once told me how do True mates seal the bond if they are of different species, they use their mating habits, like you bit me and knotted me and I share my blood my life with you and vise-versa”

He focused on my eyes, reading me, and nodded in acceptance...

“And your eyes, what about that”

I looked at him  for a moment bemused by the question, and searched my brain for some answers, maybe i had forgotten what my mum told me...

To my disappointment I couldn’t find any, so i reluctantly shrugged

“But what about my eyes?”

Derek furrowed his brows “They were like my beta eyes for a moment then went back to your normal human ones.”

“Really!”I looked at him eyes open wide “But my vampi eyes are not that”

“I think we should ask Dr. Deaton” Derek suggested

I hummed and leaned into him resting my head on his chest... Derek wrapped his arms around me and kissed in my hair....

We sat there in silence basking into each other’s warmth, feeling our love what we have for each other and for once in my life I was sure nothing could go wrong between us, nothing could break us, we were one and together and we would be like this forever...

But suddenly I pulled away as i felt a hitch and out of instinct or what I don’t know I felt Derek was worried...

“Hey stop worrying ok, everything is fine, we are fine, if you are worrying about me, I am perfectly fine, ok” I reassured, cupping his jaw gently before kissing his forehead...

“I know” he murmured breathily and pulled me back into him...
