lexi's pov :

the baby shower is over but i'm still hanging out with sophia at her house now. we talk a lot and everybody is already gone. it's now me, sophia, joey, scotty, bella, jen and ofc sage. joey's dad already gone bc he has this work thingy idrk. we talk about basically everything except about joey. she doesn't even bring him up, it feels like she knows me, she knows that i dont wanna talk about him right now.

"girls lets go" jen suddenly said

"what where?" bella asked

while i'm sitting here. confused

"we're going to the escape room" sage said

turns out jen and sage already planned this out without us.

moms🙄.

"what? you didn't tell me" i said to sage

"well i'm sorry about that, me and jen already planned it all out" sage said

"fine" i said

"come on let's go!" jen said

me and sophia look at each other in confuse but then we decided to go. i grab my white purse on the couch and we're taking an uber to the escape room.

jen got the shotgun. sage, bella, and scotty got the middle seats. i sit with sophia and joey on the backseat. joey is sitting between us, so basically we sit next to each other but we don't say a word.

after 20 minutes car ride, we've finally arrived

"thanks have a nice day" jen said after she paid our uber

we go inside and there are a lot of choices to play but we chose prison.

"i don't think i could play" jen said

"what? why?" i asked

"i'm afraid it'll be bad for the baby" she said while rubbing her stomach

"i'll come with you" joey suddenly said. wow he talks now.

"no jojo you go have fun with others" she said while rubbing joey's back

"mom but-" he said but then my mom cut him off

"i'll stay here with jen, don't worry jojo" sage said

he's not acting about it, joey literally cares about his mom more than anything, the whole family knows that.

"come on jo, let's have fun tonight k?" bella said

"besides sage is very very trusthworthy" sophia said

"come on bro" scotty said

meanwhile here i am standing in awkward because i don't know what to say to him and i haven't talked to him since that time we met at the park so it's pretty awkward now.

"fine" he said weakly

we go inside the escape room we picked, which is the prison. i mean it's only prison, it's not gonna be that scary.. i hope.

"so we will form pairs, you can pick your own partner" the instructor said

"dibs on lexi" sophia said while embracing me

"well sadly, it has to be a girl and a boy for each pairs" he said (the instructor, issa he)

"what!? what kind of rule is that?" said sophia irritably

"i'm sorry but that's the rule" he said

"fine i'll go with scotty" sophia said

"and why me?" scotty said

"because then i'll go with joey and i don't wanna go with him" sophia said

joey looked at her and roll his eyes at her

"but we're five people so there's gonna be one left without a pair" bella said to the instructor

"oh sorry i forgot to say that there's gonna be one person who's gonna be the police, so they gonna work alone" he said

"i'm gonna be the police" joey said

"you cant" bella said

"whyyy?" joey said

"because i can't pair with lexi, it's the rule" bella said

shoot. i just realised that i have to pair with joey after bella said that.

"i'll be the police" i immediately say. i don't wanna pair with joey.

"noo you cant" bella said

"please?" i said

"you cantt lexi, i've tried this game before, i know what i have to do" bella said

"i can try to learn and find out pleaaaseee" i said

"you have 1 minute left" suddenly the instructor said

"come on you guys" scotty said

"lexi please just this time?" sophia said while giving me the "its gonna be fine" look

i stay quiet. i cant be selfish just because i don't wanna be with joey. besides it's only a game, we're gonna finish this in no time. fine. i'll pair with joey. i thought to myself

"okay fine" i said

"yayy" bella said

"okay so, i'll be the police, and the prisoners are joey and lexi, sophia and scotty" bella said

"yep" sophia said

"okay i'm gonna blindfold all of you and i'll lead you guys to the room" the inst said

we're all now blindfolded and i can't see anything, the instructor lead us all to rooms. i can hear the music already. the music is really scary and thrilling, i don't like this.

after me and joey brought into the room, the instructor tell us to sit down and then he left. i swear i wanted to say everything that's on my mind right now to joey but i just cant. so we legit stay quiet while sitting down here blindfolded like a dumb person.

joey's pov :

me and lexi are now sitting on i don't know what and i don't know where but i know that lexi is scared. she's not that brave about these kind of stuffs, especially the music. once when we were watching horror movie, the background music was kinda alike with this music and she said that she's scared of this kind of music. i really want to comfort her, but instead i choose to stay quiet.

"you can open your blindfold now!" someone said

i open my blindfold and it turns out we're in jail. the first thing that i think is we have to get out from the bars by finding the key, i wanna tell lexi that but i just-

ugh why am i such a dick. why did i ruin everything on the first place.

we stay quiet for almost a minute now, we both look around and searching for something. well i'm searching for the keys but i'm not sure what lexi's looking for.

where do they hide the key anyways?

"joey" suddenly lexi said
