**Steamy chapter. If that bothers you, skip to the end or skip altogether.**
I was lying down, looking up at the ceiling. Had I made the right choice? I wanted to say yes but something in my mind told me I shouldn't.
"Brandon, why did we pick pizza again? I'm so tired of having pizza." I knew I should have picked something else.
"Baby, I asked you what you wanted and you said pizza was fine. Do you want me to get you something else?" He really was sweet. I'd decided going back to his place was best since I didn't want to come home to Mary and Mia's possible new relationship later.
"No, it's ok. I'll eat it but promise me no more pizza for the next two weeks." I looked over at him and his face was open with shock.
"No pizza for two weeks? Are you trying to kill me?" His whiney voice made me smile and I knew if he told me tomorrow he wanted pizza I would gladly tell him yes.
"Ok, how about one week?" His mouth closed but it turned into a pouty face, causing me to giggle and roll my eyes.
"Dammit, ok four days and that's my final offer. I'm all pizza'd out Brandon." He smiled and crashed his lips to mine.
"You're the best girlfriend ever," he said against my mouth with a smile. I just tangled my hands in his hair and pulled him to me, ending the pizza discussion all together.
"Davis?" Brandon pushed me back slightly, making me frown. He'd never ended a kiss like that before. His face was turned down away from me and he took a deep breath in.
"Brandon?" I responded in the same tone he'd given me and he looked at me rather concerned.
"Ok, well I ran into Erica earlier before we went out." I didn't want to hear anymore. I stood up and moved towards the door, grabbing my jacket.
"I'll just see myself out then." I reached for the door and as I opened it, Brandon's hand pushed it hard, slamming it shut.
"Just let me finish. Nothing happened, I swear. I'm just trying to be open and honest with you. She came here to talk and I told her she had nothing to say that I wanted to hear and she left really pissed. I guess she and Mike aren't together anymore because she heard we broke up and was hoping I'd get back together with her." His story confirmed what Mike had told me earlier but I just couldn't shake the feeling I was being played. I wondered how long I'd feel this was towards him or if I'd ever fully trust him again. I just hoped I figured that question out before I'd been with him too long to get out.
"Davis, please say something." His voice was low and I could feel his breath on the side of my face. I wanted to face him but I couldn't make my body move in his direction.
"Thank you for telling me." I put on a fake smile but didn't look at him still. I felt his lips on my shoulder and I closed my eyes at the gesture.
"I'm trying, Davis. I really am but if you don't want this to work maybe we should just end it before we get too much time invested." I smiled at his words because I was just thinking the exact same thing. I finally willed myself to turn my head and look at him. His face was still lowered close to mine and his handsome face made me smile.
"I care for you, a lot and I really want this to work but you really hurt me and that's just going to take some time to move past. I'm willing to try as long as you can deal with my mini setbacks." I turned towards him and wrapped my arms around his neck and placed my forehead against his. I kept my eyes open so I could still see his face as I talked to him.
"I'm glad you told me about Erica because Mike and I talked today as well. He told me pretty much the same thing Erica told you, that she broke up with his as soon as she heard you and I broke up. He hit on me but I wasn't having any of it." Brandon's arms snaked around my waist and he held me tight against his chest.
