Brandon, Mia and Mary helped me put my room back together. The whole time I don't think I actually said one word. I was running through all of the madness in my head, trying to figure out if there was someone else besides Erica that I thought would do this. I know she's a crazy bitch who's obsessed with Brandon but was it possible that she knew about he and I yet? Something in my head told me to stay aware and keep my head down.
"Davis?" I looked up from picking up some of my clothes to see everyone looking at me.
"Yes?" I faked a smile as I looked at all of their faces.
"We're you listening to anything we were talking about?" I nodded my head no as I continued to pick up my clothes. A second later I felt a soft hand touch my arm and I flinched back slightly and looked up. Mia was looking down at me with such a sad face.
"Hey, it's going to be alright. We don't let anyone hurt you. We will get the locks changed and make sure that you aren't home alone for a while. We can have sleepovers, right Brandon?" She was such a happy person and I felt awful bringing this drama into their lives.
"No, that isn't necessary. I'm a big girl and I can take care of myself." I finally spoke and my powerful words came out more like a whisper.
"Davis, I'm not going to leave you in a position to get hurt because of someone's stupidity." Brandon spoke and moved closer to me. He knelt down and took my hand, kissing my knuckles. I looked up at him and Mia and smiled.
"Thanks, guys. You're the best." Mia's fake smile was replaced with a genuine one and Brandon pulled me towards him, making me fall on top of him. Everyone laughed at me and for the first time in weeks, I felt like I wasn't alone.
*******
The next few weeks were a haze to me. Every night either I stayed at Brandon's or he stayed with me. Mia and Mary were officially a couple and they were sickly cute but I was glad they were happy.
"Sweetheart, do you have plans tonight?" Brandon asked me sweetly as he touched the side of my face to get my attention.
"No, I don't think so. Do you?" I smiled up at him and stood on my tip toes, silently asking for a kiss. He looked at me carefully and slowly moved closer to me, pressing his lips to mine.
"I thought maybe we could go out of town this weekend. There's a cabin up by the lake that I've been to before with friends and I rented it for us. I know I should have asked you before now but I was trying to be spontaneous." The second he suggested it I wanted to scream yes but seeing him squirm, waiting for my answer could be fun.
"I don't know if that's such a good idea. My other boyfriend and I had plans this weekend and I'd had to disappoint him. He's so good in bed." As I said the word bed Brandon picked me up and threw me on my bed, pinning my hands down above my head.
"Other boyfriend, huh?" His nose ran across my jaw and he nibbled on my neck.
"Yeah, he's really good in bed. Did you hear that the first time? He does this thing with his tongue." Before I could finish Brandon bit harder on my neck, making me laugh and squirm under him, begging him to stop.
"What did you say?" The smile on his face told me he just wants me to stroke his ego and something else but he was playing along."
"I said," I moved my head closer to his and looked him right in the face, "That he's a much better lover than you."
"I guess I'll just have to prove you wrong," and he spent the next hour doing exactly as he said.
After a short cat nap, I got up to pack for the weekend. I'd spent almost all of the money I had on replacing my clothes but between Mia, Mary and their friends, I ended up with more clothes than I started with.
