Day 21.
Tom's POV.I was filming a scene in which I was talking to Jacob about Lil's character, gazing into the distance and perfectly portraying the lovestricken teen. Of course this was because I wasn't staring into the distance at all, but into Lily's eyes just off-set. I had to admit, it did make my performances a lot easier when I was actually in love with the woman.
She giggled and picked up a salad, still watching me as she chewed on a piece of feta cheese.
Jacob threw a piece of lego at my head.
"Peter!"
"Huh?" I snapped back into Spiderman mode.
"You're thinking about her again aren't you?" Jacob - or rather, Ned - raised an eyebrow at me.
"You can't blame me, Lily is perfect."
There was a moment of silence in which all the colour drained from my face. Then every person in the room burst out laughing.
"You're an idiot Tom." The girl whose name I had just mistakenly said ruffled my hair like a child, wandering off to find a Starbucks while she had a spare hour.
"Don't mess up too much while I'm gone sweetie!"
Lily's POV
I entered the coffee shop, raising my head up slightly at the smell of freshly ground coffee beans. It was my second favourite smell, the first being the way the pages of a hardback book smell the first time you open it. Tom always laughed at me when I literally stuck my nose in a book.
"Hi, can I have a... um..." I trailed off, wanting to try something new but being unsure of what to get.
The barista smiled charmingly at me. "Have I seen you somewhere before?"
"I doubt it, I moved here from England less than three weeks ago." I returned the smile politely, glancing down at my shoes.
He clicked his fingers with a look of realisation.
"You were just announced as a member of the Spiderman 2 cast!" He leaned forward conspiratorially. "And Tom Holland's girlfriend."
"Ah yes! That's right. Currently though, I'm much more concerned that I have to be back in twenty minutes and I can't decide on a drink." I chuckled at him.
"Back at filming? Wow!" He whispered even quieter this time.
I nodded, trying to suppress my laughter at his enthusiasm.
"Well then I think you'd like a caramel cocoa cluster frappuccino on the house." His eyes sparkled as he set to work making the drink.
"Mmm, sounds delicious. Thank you so much!"
"It's my pleasure, soon-to-be Spidergirl."
I was suddenly hit with a sharp stab of sadness. Salty liquid began to pool in the corner of my eyes.
"You're so kind..."
I grabbed the drink and fled from the scene, crying for absolutely no reason as I went.
***
"Are you ok?"
"Yeah, I'm fine Tom. Just a little emotional today for some reason." I smiled gently at the man, snuggling my face further into his chest.
He didn't respond with words, knowing that right now all I wanted was someone to hold me.
"I even started crying because the barista gave me a free coffee today. Recognised me because of Spiderman. I've been announced now you know." I wasn't entirely sure whether I was talking to him or just thinking aloud. "Did you mess up any more at filming? I never asked, but everyone was smiling when I walked in." I smirked at him.
"Mmm, don't do that."
"Do what?" My eyes widened at the unexpected response.
"Smirk at me."
"Why?" I purposefully smirked at him.
He opened his mouth to answer me, but before he could get his words out I pressed my lips over his. Surprise registered on his face for just a second before his features melted into a lustful expression. I straddled him, his hands landing on my hips.
Yet before we could go any further, I laid my head on his shoulder and promptly fell asleep.
Tom's POV
She just fell asleep! Just like that! I guessed that she was ill, and pressed my palm to her forehead. She was a little warm, but didn't seem to have a fever.
How bizarre.
"Lily, love?"
She moaned a little in her sleep, but refused to move.
I pulled up my Instagram, taking a picture of the amusing sight, knowing that although she would kill me when she woke up, it was totally worth it.
Slowly, I rolled her over, cradling her head as you would a new-born's. As expected, she remained unconscious, and I placed my lips gently on her hot ones for a fleeting second before going downstairs.
I impulsively decided to make french toast. I whisked eggs, added spices and a ton of cinnamon (because that's the best bit, obviously!) and dunked thick slices of fresh bread into the mixture. I had made five slices and was really getting into it, when I heard a voice behind me.
"Something smells good."
Lily grabbed a plate and picked up three of my creations, sitting down on the floor with her knees pulled up to her chin. She watched intently as I finished the sixth slice and grabbed my own plate before joining her on the floor.
"Sleep well?" She froze mid-chew to nod at me, eyes glistening with contentment.
We sat and ate in comfortable silence, her nestled into my side. Every now and then I would find her gazing up at me with a hint of a smile ghosting her lips every time I caught her eye.
A soft hum of pleasure left her lips.
"Thank you for looking after me darling." She batted her eyelids at me innocently.
"Anytime."
