Y/n's POV
The next afternoon, our train arrived in Denver. We had seven days until the solstice. All of us were hungry, and in desperate need of a shower, but we had other worries. Annabeth wanted to contact Chiron, so we wandered around downtown for half an hour until we found an empty do-it-yourself car wash.
"What exactly are we doing?" Percy asked as Grover took out the spray gun.
"Ugh," Grover groaned. "It's seventy-five cents. I've only got two quarters left. Annabeth?"
"Don't look at me. The dining car wiped me out," Annabeth confessed.
"Don't worry about it. I've got it," I assure Grover and pass him a quarter.
"No one ever answered my question. What are we doing?" Percy repeated.
"Iris messaging," Annabeth stated. "The rainbow goddess Iris carries messages for the gods. If you know how to ask, and she's not too busy, she'll do the same for half-bloods."
Percy raised his eyebrows. "You summon the goddess with a spray gun?"
"You need a rainbow, and the easiest way to get one is with mist," I explain as Grover turned on the water gun, which sprayed mist into the air.
"Goddess, accept our offering," Annabeth pleaded and threw the coin into the rainbow. "Half-Blood Hill."
For a moment, nothing happened, but the mist soon shimmered, and Camp Half Blood appeared. The strawberry fields could be seen out in the distance along with Long Island Sound, meaning we were on the porch of the Big House. Standing at the railing was a boy with sandy colored hair, whom I recognized immediately.
"Luke!" I call out into the mist.
"Y/n! Thank the gods. Are you guys okay?" Luke questioned.
"We're fine," Annabeth butt in. "Is uh, is Chiron around?"
Luke's smile faded. "He's down at the cabins. There's been a few issues with the campers."
"What kind of issues?" Grover quizzed. Before Luke could answer, a car pulled up into the stall next to us. Their radio was turned to maximum volume, and the bass shook the pavement. The mist flickered slightly, and suddenly it became hard to hear Luke.
"Come on, Grover," Annabeth urged and tugged on his hand. "We'll take care of it."
"Here," Grover offered and shoved the spray gun into Percy's hands as Annabeth dragged him off.
"Chiron had to break up a fight!" Luke shouted to Percy and I over the music. "Things are pretty tense here. Word leaked out about the Zeus and Poseidon stand-off. We're still not sure how. Probably the same scumbag who summoned the hellhound. Now the campers are starting to take sides. It's shaping up like the Trojan War all over again. Aphrodite, Ares and Apollo are backing Poseidon, more or less. And Athena is backing Zeus."
"Wonderful," I grumble and cross my arms over my chest. "Just what we need. Another problem."
"It'll be fine. Seriously," Luke reassured me. "So what's your guys' status? Chiron will be sorry he missed you."
"Go on, Percy. Tell him everything," I instruct. Percy did as I asked, and he relayed our entire quest up to this point to Luke. The story went on for so long, that eventually, the timer on the stall beeped, meaning we only had one minute left with the sprayer.
"I wish I could be there," Luke admitted. "We can't help from here, I'm afraid, but listen. It had to be Hades who took the master bolt. He was there at Olympus at the winter solstice. I was chaperoning a field trip and we saw him."
