Chapter 17-Conversation at the Beach

"Where is Gracy?" asked Esme.

"She went over to her mom's house to see Jasmine and her mother. She's staying there for a week," said Rosalie.

"Oh, she must be happy," said Esme.

"Yeah, probably, except she wanted to meet dad," said Rosalie.

"Oh, I wish I met her," dad said.

"Gracy's always busy and she's never bored. She could be rude, though," said Esme.

"I wouldn't think she'd be rude," said Dad.

"She doesn't look like she'd be a rude girl if you ever saw her, but if she is, don't be surprised."

We looked out the sky and the sun began to set.

"Ronny, come over here. The sun's setting,"said Rosalie.

"I could see it perfectly fine right here," said Ronny.

"Okay," said Rosalie.

"Wow, it's beautiful," said Esme.

The sun soon set and it got darker outside.

I saw Ronny running out of the water towards us.

"What are you doing?" I asked him.   

"Let's go to the boardwalk. Sundown's over,"said Ronny quietly.

"Okay," said Esme.

"What were you talking about?" asked dad angrily.

"It's none of your business," said Rosalie.

"How come you're acting different?" Rosalie asked dad.

"I'm mad at Ronny for why he got punished,"said dad.

"Oh please, just be happy like you always were," said Rosalie.

"I'll try my best, but he's just so disappointing these days," said Jim.

"Jim, Esme's been waiting forever to see you. Be happy for her," Rosalie said.

"Why does he seem different to you?" I asked Rosalie.

"He doesn't look or act as happy," said Rosalie.

"You also have to remember that he's a lawyer," I said quietly.

"What did she whisper?" asked dad.

"I'll tell you," I said. "I said you have to remember that he's a lawyer so that might be why he's not as happy."

"That's very true," said dad.
