I feel safe

Stef's (POV)
I was sitting at my desk going through some paperwork when my phone started buzzing in my pocket I took it out and saw that it was Emma I answered it and I could tell that she was crying "What's wrong love" I asked. "I-I'm at the Chinese food place by our house can you please come and pick me up" she said. "Yeah sure love I'll be there in twenty minutes" I said. I hung up the phone and grabbed a sticky note off my desk I wrote that I went to go pick up Emma and that I would be back I put it on the captains door and left the station. I pulled up to the restaurant and saw Emma sitting at a table. I was just about to text her and tell her I was here when I saw a woman who looked to be in her twenties approach her I got out of the car and began walking over there. "Leave me alone" Emma said. "Is there a problem" I asked. "No" the woman said. The woman left and Emma threw herself into my arms I wrapped my arms around her and we hugged for a minute.

Emma's (POV)
Stef put her arm around me and we walked to the car. I got in and put my seatbelt on and I looked out the window. "What happened" stef asked. "I don't want to talk about it" I said. "I'm gonna drive you home I'll text Lena and tell her you won't be going back to school" she said. "Okay" I said. We drove home and I looked out the window the entire car ride. When we got home I grabbed my bag and I began to walk to the porch I noticed that stef came into the house with me. We walked into the kitchen and she asked me to sit down. I did as I was told and sat down. "Please talk to me Emma what happened" she said. "That was Regina I found out that she cheated on me" I said. "I'm so sorry baby" she said. "Don't be it's my fault should've stuck with girls my age I should've trusted an older girl" I said. "I'm not saying I'm okay with it but it's not your fault when you fall in love with someone you think that they won't ever hurt you and when they do it sucks" she said. I put my head down and cried again I looked up slightly and said. "Yeah it does" she walked over to me and wrapped her arms around me. "Thank you" I said. "For what my love" she asked. "For being here for me and making me feel safe" I said. "That's what I'm here for love" she said. "I have to get going but I'll text Mamma" she said. "Okay" I said. She let me go and walked out. I went up to my room and laid down and cried in my bed until I fell asleep.

Lena's (POV)
It was the end of the day and I was getting ready to go to a meeting when I got a text from Stef. She explained why Emma never came back to school and I felt so bad that I wasn't going home to be with her. I walked out of my office and I saw Mariana. "Hey Ms. Thang" I said. "Hi Mamma" she said. "Do me a favor" I said. "Sure" she said. "When you get home check on Emma make sure she's okay" I said. "Oh okay what happened" she asked. "That's not my place to tell you. If she wants to tell you she will" I said. "Okay" she said. "Good I have a meeting but I'll see you when I get home Okay" I said. "Okay" she said. I walked to the faculty room where the meeting was being held the entire meeting all I could think about was Emma and how much she must me hurting right now.

Mariana's (POV)
I got home and went straight upstairs to check on Emma when I got in I found Emma holding her pillow and I can tell she had been crying. "Hey" I said. "Hey" she said. "Um Mamma told me to check and see if you were okay" I said. "I'm fine I guess" she said. "What happened" I asked. "Um well to put it bluntly my girlfriend cheated on me" she said. "Oh my god I'm sorry" I said. "Not your fault" she said. "Yeah well it doesn't have to be my fault for me to be sorry" I said. "Well thanks" she said. "No problem and I'm here for you" I said. I went to my bed and started on my homework. I heard the front door open and then footsteps coming up the stairs. Mamma came into the room and asked Emma to go downstairs and talk to her.

Emma's (POV)
Lena asked me to go downstairs and talk to her so I began walking down the stairs with her right behind instead of sitting in the kitchen I went out to the backyard and sat in a chair. She sat down next to me and looked over at me. "So Mom told me what happened are you okay" she asked. "I will be" I said. "Are you sure" she asked. "Yeah as long as I have you and Mom I'll be okay" I said. This was the first time that i had called stef Mom but it just felt right because they've been so understanding and they've been there for me since I got here. I moved my chair closer to hers and laid my head on her shoulder. "She didn't deserve you I hope you know that Emma" she said. I chuckled a bit. "I always thought it was the other way around" I said. "No Emma it's not" she said. "Thanks" I said. "I should start dinner" she said. "Yeah" I said. She got up and I followed behind her we got inside and she put her hair up. "Mamma" I said. "Yeah honey" she said. I wrapped my arms around her and said. "I love you Mamma" "I love you too honey" she said. I pulled away and noticed that Mom was in the doorway. I went over to her and wrapped my arms around her to. "I love you Mom" I said. "I love you too baby" she said. I pulled away and went upstairs and waited for dinner to be ready.
