Birthday

Emma's (POV)
I woke up at about ten in the morning and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth. When I got out of the bathroom everyone attacked me with hugs. "Happy Birthday" they all said. "Thanks" I said. They backed up and my moms looked at me. "There are people downstairs that wan to see you" Mamma said. "Who" I asked. "Go downstairs and see" Mom said. I walked downstairs and into the kitchen I didn't see anyone so I walked into the living room. When I walked in I saw Neal Henry and someone I hadn't seen in a really long time. Ruby. "Ruby" I asked. "Happy Birthday" She said. "Oh my god" I said. She threw herself into my arms and I hugged her back. I've always had a thing for ruby so hugging her felt great. "What are you doing here" I asked. "Well I came to see you. Neal said he had to tell you something but he didn't tell me what it was" she said. I turned to Neal and he smiled lightly. "Is everything ok" I asked. "Yeah" he said. "First I wanted to give you your present" he said. "Okay" I said. He handed me a box and it was labeled Mom and Dad's stuff. "Oh my god" I said. "I've had it for a while but I thought you should have it" he said. "But don't you want to keep it for memories" I asked. "I have things from Mom and Dad you don't" he said. "Thank you" I said. He smiled at me lightly and then he sat down I sat down in the chair behind me and then he looked up at me. "Emma" he said. "Yeah" I said. "I-I'm moving to Miami" he said. "What" I said. "I'm so sorry Emma" he said. I looked down and I was holding back tears I looked back up at him and spoke. "How long have you known" I asked. "A month" he said. "You knew you were moving a month ago and you picked today to tell me Neal" I said. "I know it's fucked up but I'm leaving today. I knew if I had told you earlier it would make me not want to leave" he said. "So what your just gonna take Henry with you" I asked. "No henry is gonna stay with Ruby" he said. I turned to ruby. "Are you okay with that" I asked. "Totally" She said. I got up and I went over to Neal and threw myself in his arms. "I have to go I'm sorry Emma" he said. "You know the fact that you can't even take one second to hug me back makes you a dick I hope you know that" I said. I let go of Neal and went out to the backyard and slammed the door.

Ruby's (POV)
"Really Neal you couldn't have hugged her" I asked. "No if i would've it would prevent me from going" he said. "You're ridiculous" I said. "Henry stay here" I said. He nodded his head and sat down on the couch. I glared at Neal and I went into the kitchen where I found the back door that Emma slammed. I opened it and saw her sitting on a chair outside alone. "Hey" I said. "Hey" she said. I pulled up a chair next to her and I saw she was crying. "Hey it's gonna be okay" I said. "It fucking sucks I lost my parents and now I'm losing my brother" she said. "I'm sorry Emma" I said. "Not your fault" she said. I turned to look at her and she looked at me. "It doesn't have to be my fault for me to be sorry" I said. I put my hand a little bit above her knee and she glanced at it but left it alone. Just then the door opened and we both turned around and I saw a blonde lady with short hair and a lady with really pretty curly hair. They came over and sat in front of Emma. "Hey my love" the blonde said. "Hi Mom" Emma said. They looked at me and introduced themselves. "Hi I'm Stef" the blonde said. "Ruby" I said. "I'm Lena" the other lady said. "Ruby" I said. They glanced down at my hand and didn't say anything. "I'm sorry love" stef said. "For what" Emma asked. "We know that Neal's leaving and we want you to know we're here for you" Lena said. "Wait you knew" Emma asked. "Yeah love" stef said. "H-How long have you known" Emma asked. "Two weeks" Lena said. "Two weeks and you didn't say anything" Emma said. "It wasn't our place" Lena said. Stef reaches for Emma's hand and Emma pulled it away. "Don't touch me right now" Emma said. Emma got up and ran inside I followed her upstairs and into a room I assume was her bedroom. "I'm sorry I took off I just I really cannot be home right now" she said. "It's fine. If you don't want to be home you can come stay at my place" I said. "Really" she asked. "Totally" I said. "Okay" she said. We walked downstairs and we were met by stef and Lena. Emma walked passed them and I did the same. Emma went into the living room where Henry was still sitting and she looked at him.

Emma's (POV)
"Come on kid we're leaving" I said to Henry. "You're coming with me and ruby" he asked. "Yup" I said. He got his bag and he ran to the door. "Emma where are you going" Mamma asked. "Does It matter" I asked. "Yes Emma it does" Mom said. "I'm going to Ruby's" I said. "No you're not" Mom said. "Well guess what Mom I'm eighteen so you have no control over where I live" I said. I opened the door for Ruby and she walked out the door and I followed closely behind her.
