The Breakup

Emma's (POV)

It's been two weeks since what happened with Regina and I still don't know how I feel about her. Henry is out of the hospital and after he got out he told me he wanted to have some kind of relationship with Regina so he's been staying with her for the last two weeks. I finally got my own car so I can go wherever I want whenever I need to. It's been kind of hard to live with Ruby because Regina isn't the only one I'm questioning my feelings for I'm also questioning my feelings for Ruby. Ruby and I are sitting on the couch watching a movie and she has her head on my chest. I looked down at her and she's asleep I grabbed the remote and turned off the TV I grabbed Ruby bridal style and I carried her upstairs I put her on the bed and I covered her with the blanket. I pulled out my phone and saw that it was 1:00 in the morning. I looked around the room and I realized that I can't do this. I went downstairs and grabbed a box out of the closet and quietly went back upstairs I grabbed all my clothes and put them in the box and then I put the rest of my stuff in my backpack. I sealed the box with some tape and went downstairs. I grabbed some paper and left Ruby a note saying that I have to figure some things out and that while I'm doing that we can't be together. I grabbed my car keys and I drove to my house. When I got to my house I realized that the doors were probably locked so that means I have to call someone to let me in. I decided to call Brandon he answered after the third ring. "hello" he said. "Hey it's me" I said. "Yeah hey what do you want" he said. "God hello to you too" I said. "Sorry are you okay" he asked. "I'm fine Brandon just let me in I'm at the front door" I said. "Okay" he said. I hung up the phone and he opened the door a few seconds later.

Brandon's (POV)

I opened the door for Emma and she came in. "what are you doing" I asked. "I just can't be at Ruby's anymore" she said. "Oh Okay" I said. We walked upstairs and she opened the door of her room quietly I went into my room and went back to my keyboard to continue the song I was working on. "Hey who's the chick in my bed" Emma asked. "Oh Damn it I forgot that's Callie Mariana's friend she's been staying here for a while" I said. "Okay looks like I'm taking the couch" she said. "You can sleep in here on the floor if you want" I said. "Um sure" she said. I looked back at my keyboard and started playing the song. I heard footsteps behind me and she grabbed the stool by the wall and sat next to me. "Who's the song for" she asked. "Grace" I said. "Nice" she said. "Yeah I'm really worried about her" I said. "Why" she asked. "Because her mom talked to me and she told me that Grace has Leukemia" I said. "Oh my god I'm so sorry Brandon" she said. "it's okay. I just I wonder why she never told me and why I had to hear it from her mom" I said. "Well maybe she didn't tell you because she didn't want you to worry about her. Maybe it's not as bad as you think." she said. "Yeah. No matter what though she's my girlfriend and I'm always gonna worry about her" I said. "That's what I love about you Brandon" she said. "What" I asked. "You always worry about your family and your girlfriends you always put people before yourself" she said. I chuckled a little and then looked back at my keyboard. "The only thing is I don't really have lyrics for it" I said. "I'm sure you'll figure something out" she said. I started playing the song and I could tell she was so focused on the beat of the music. I kept playing and I heard her sing something. "I took you at your word when you said you would steal my heart. Yeah this might sound absurd but would you be my thief take all of me every part" she sang. "I really like that keep going" I said. "Um... "that's really good Emma" I said "Thanks I'm out of ideas though so your gonna have to come up with the rest on your own" she said. "Thanks for helping me and talking to me about Grace" I said. "No problem" she said. She got up and hugged me and then she put the stool back and grabbed a blanket and a pillow and went to bed.

Stef's (POV)

I woke up in the Morning to the doorbell. I went downstairs and opened the door and I saw Ruby standing there with tears in her eyes. "What can I do for you" I asked. "Is Emma here" she asked. "Um I don't think so" I said. "Well she left me a note this morning saying that she needed to figure things out and I looked in the her closet and all her stuff was gone" she said. "Um let me go check upstairs come in" I said. She stepped inside and waited by the door while I went upstairs to check if Emma was up there. I checked in her room but I only saw Mariana and Callie asleep. I went into Brandon's room and he was up playing his keyboard. "Hey B have you seen Emma" I asked. He looked back at me and pointed to the floor. I went over to where he was pointing and I found Emma sleeping. I bent down and shook her a little. "Emma" I said. She opened her eyes slowly and she looked at me. "Yeah what's up" she asked. "Ruby is here to see you" I said. "Oh my god" she said. She got up and went out the door and downstairs and I followed her to talk to Ruby. "Hey" Ruby said. "Hi" Emma said. Ruby reached for Emma's hand and Emma pulled her hand away. "Why did you leave Emma" Ruby asked. "Because I-I don't want to be with you anymore" Emma said. "So you chose her...Regina I mean" Ruby asked. "No I'm not in love with her either I just don't want to be in a relationship right now" Emma said. "Okay that's fine but what about Henry" Ruby asked. "That's my business" Emma said walking into the kitchen. "Emma you can't leave him" Ruby said. "I'm not leaving him Ruby" Emma said. "Ill leave you two alone" I said. "No Mom I want you to stay please" Emma said "Okay" I said. "What the hell am I supposed to tell Henry when he comes home and sees that you're not there" Ruby asked. "Don't tell him anything tell him that I will talk to him when I see him" Emma said. "Fine" Ruby said. Ruby walked out of the kitchen and she opened the front door and I heard in slam a few seconds later. "Calm down Emma" I said. "I'm sorry" she said. She ran upstairs and I heard a door slam.
