Chapter 13

Alec's P.O.V
I froze in place. I was not prepared for this. I tried to sound professional, "Hello Mr. Bane. We need your help to find our friend Clary because she has been kidnapped by Valentine. We tried tracking her, but it was unsuccessful. They must be over water somewhere."

"I'll help you Shadowhunters find your friend, but only on one condition." Magnus said to us. Aghhh! Him and his stupid deals. I know it's going to be something involving me. I have no doubt about it.

"What is it?" Izzy asked. "We'll do anything to get Clary back."

"All I want is to have dinner with Alexander tonight. Then I'll help you." Magnus explained.

Oh shit! This can't be happening. It was the thing I dreaded the most to do. I couldn't face him again. Not after he hurt me so much.

"He'll do it," Izzy told him. I was shocked! Why would she say that?! She then whispered in my ear, "It's for Clary. You can do this."

"Come with me. I can get you ready for your date," Jace said to me. I went with him, and when we were in his room, he continued, "Alec, thank you for doing this. We need to find Clary. I know this is hard for you to face him again, but you'll be ok."

"Thanks man. Although you may be an ass sometimes, you're my brother and best friend. I hope I can do this."
I sincerely said.

"You can! Let's find you a nice suit to wear on your date."

"It's not a date! More like a business dealing. Oh my gosh! He has the audacity to ask for dinner after he hurt me badly!"

~At the date/business dealership~

I'm wearing a dark blue suit and tie. Magnus and I are having dinner on the Institute's roof. He used his magic to conjure up some steak for us to eat. It reminded me of the time Clary and I went on our date. It make me miss her even more.

Suddenly, Magnus' voice brought me out of my thoughts, "Alexander, I want to explain about that night. I tried to explain to you what happened, but you didn't listen to me."

"Fine, but make it quick. I don't want to be here any longer than I have to." I responded to him.

"Camille came to my place unexpectedly. I told her to go away, but she wouldn't. She wanted me to take her back, but I told her I had a boyfriend. She started screaming at me, and when she heard you opening the door, she suddenly kissed me. This is actually what happened. I would never lie to you Alexander."

I wasn't sure whether to believe him or not. He seemed like he was telling the truth, but I don't know.

Magnus' P.O.V

I would never lie to Alexander. I love him so much. I can tell he was deciding whether to believe me or not.

"Well," he finally said, "then why were you kissing her at the Pandemonium at few nights ago?"

"I got really drunk and she used her powers to control me." I said to him.

"I believe you and I forgive you. I should have let you explain that day." He told me.

I then finally got the courage to say this, "Alexander, I'm so sorry for all the pain that I've caused you. Will you give me a second chance?"
