Clary's P.O.V
I found myself in the main entrance of the L.A. Institute and immediately noticed a rancid smell. Where was it coming from? I followed it to the door of my old room here. I opened the door slowly and I looked at what was inside with horror.
Dead bodies. They were the bodies of all the people who lived here. The bodies of my friends. The bodies of people I grew up with and took care of me. Tears were falling quickly down my face. Sebastian slaughtered them all. These people trusted him when he showed up on our doorstep a year ago, and he just betrayed them. I will fucking kill him. He will pay.
I marched to the prison cells, tears still leaking from my eyes. "Sebastian!" I called. "I'm here. Are you happy now? You killed all the people here. They trusted you! They fucking trusted you! And you just went and betrayed them. You really are a monster."
"Now, now, Clarissa. Is this really the way to greet me?" Sebastian stepped out of the shadows in the corner of the cold, dank room.
I couldn't bare to hear him talk anymore. I charged at him, my seraph blade pointing at the place where his heart was. Just before the blade pieces his skin, he caught it. His hand was covered on dark blood, but it didn't seem to faze him. "If you keep this rudeness up, then you won't be able to to see your precious Jace." He talked as if I was a child throwing a tantrum because he wouldn't give me candy.
"Fine," I scowled. "So where is he?"
"Come," he said, beckoning me over to where he was standing. "He's in here." He pointed to a prison cell.
I cautiously opened the door; I wasn't sure if this was a trap or not. But then I saw him. Unconscious, but still alive. "Jace!" I exclaimed, although he couldn't hear me. I turned towards Sebastian and demanded, "What did you do to him? Why is he covered in so much blood?"
"Well he was resisting too much," Sebastian replied, "so of course I had to stab him to calm him down."
"I hate you! I wish Jace had fucking killed you! You are a monster and no one will ever love you! Now Jace and I are getting out of here." I took out my stele and tried to draw the unlocking rune.
Sebastian's eyes turned hard. I knew I had crossed a line, but I didn't care. "Loveless?" He chuckled maniacally. "You will learn to love me Clarissa." He stepped forward in a second and snatched the stele and my seraph blade out of my hands. I mentally slapped myself. I should have been ready for him to do something like that.
"No!" I cried out. Those were the only chances of me escaping and fighting.
He walked out of the prison cell and locked it. "I'll keep you in there until you learn to behave."
I knew there was no way I could talk myself out of this cell, so I stayed quiet. I tried to shake Jace to wake him up. "Jace! Jace! Wake up!" I knew it was pointless after a few minutes of doing that. I sighed. I guess he was injured pretty badly and needed all the rest he could get.
Alec's P.O.V
Where was Clary? Knowing her, she probably already went to see Sebastian and left a few hours ago at midnight. I expected her to back already. I thought about all the things that could have happened to her. I couldn't sleep without making sure she was safe, so I pushed the covers off myself and shook Magnus, who was beside me, awake. After a few groans of protest from him, he got up.
"What do you want?" He asked, clearly exasperated.
I told him to meet me in my office in five minutes and went to wake up Simon and Izzy.
After I got all of them to wake up, I explained the Clary, Jace, and Sebastian situation. They had looks of shock and suddenly a chorus of "Why didn't you tell us?" rang out.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you, but I didn't want to risk one of you going with Clary and getting Jace killed."
"Understandable," Izzy said impatiently. "But we should go see if she's ok. Sebastian is very unpredictable and we don't know what he wants from her or Jace."
"I'll make a portal. We need to save biscuit and Jace," Magnus said. I really appreciated that he was trying to help, although he wasn't Jace's biggest fan.
Jace's P.O.V
"Ughhhhhhh," I moaned, feeling extremely groggy. I slowly opened my eyes to see a bright-eyed redhead. "Clary?" I asked. "Is this a dream? Are you really here?"
She smiled. "Of course I'm really here! I'm so glad to see you!" She wrapped me in a warm embrace. I winced in pain. She immediately looked worried, unlike her joyful demeanor before. "Are you ok? Sebastian hurt you pretty bad. I feel like it's all my fault you got hurt." Her green eyes filled with tears.
"It's fine and not your fault." I managed a weak smile. "How did you get here? Did Sebastian do anything to hurt you?"
"No, but I tried to hurt him," she scowled. "Fucking bastard caught it though. I want to kill him so badly."
"I know what you mean. He's too fast. I think it's because he has demon blood. Wait! I forgot to tell you that Sebastian has a plan to lure the others here too! Did they come with you?"
"No, I didn't want them to come incase they got hurt. Also, Sebastian threatened to kill you if I didn't some alone so...."
"Oh, ok. How are we going to get out of here? The only way we can get out is a key, which Sebastian has, or an unlocking rune, but we don't have a stele."
"Shit. I had mine, but he took it away, as well as my seraph blade. He said he was going to keep me in here until I 'learn to behave', so I don't know when he is going to let me out." She sighed. "I wish we could get out and never see Sebastian again."
Just then, we heard a voice from behind the prison cell door. "Did someone call for a rescue?"
