A few days later I was in a peaceful dream when I heard moaning coming from Elijah's bedroom. You've got to be kidding me. I can't believe he's banging Mara. Not that I care but show some respect. This isn't just his house. Ugh
It's been two weeks, I avoided Elijah, neither one crossed a word, at school I ignored him, in classes too, he was dealing with math on his own, he got a little better though. Neither one pulled a prank, we basically didn't exist for each other.
"This is getting ridiculous." Bri said while slamming her hands on the table.
"Those two need to get it together." Jojo chimed in.
"There's one issue, Mara." Tyler mentioned.
"You leave that puta to me." Aaron smirked.
"So, what's the plan." Tyler asked.
"Hey, Mara." Aaron greeted her.
"Hey?"
"Elijah says to meet him at the janitors closet."
"Can't get enough of me." She smirked.
"Sure, he says to meet him there now." She just nodded and made her way there. Once she went inside, Aaron locked her in. "Have fun humping the mop, cause that's the only stick you'll be having." He laughed.
.........
"Ice cream after school?" Jojo asked.
"Yeah sure, ice cream sounds perfect." I replied.
"Great, we'll meet you there in an hour." Jojo answered.
"See you later, I need to stop for churros." Bri said before leaving.
"That girl needs help." I said while shaking my head.
"Yup. Now excuse me while I catch her, that puta is crazy when she's on a sugar rush." She laughed as she walked away.
...........
I waited for my friends at the ice cream place, but nothing.
"Grayson, you suck."
"And you swallow." He shot back.
"She agrees with me right?" The girl asked me.
"I'm confused."
"I'm Harmony and this tool is my twin."
"You see, I think we should travel for our eighteenth birthday, and this tool says no, that we should party like crazy and throw the house down the window."
"Uhm, when is your birthday?"
"Next year." She replied.
"Well, it's a long way, so maybe you two should just enjoy life and not plan ahead."
"She's right, and you are?" He asked.
"I'm Danielle."
"Nice to meet you." He kissed my hand.
"You too." I said to both of them.
Elijah walked in and saw me. He just sighed and turned around, as he was about to leave, he stopped, and walked towards the booth and sat down.
"Later, Danielle." She waved and dragged her twin away.
"Do I even want to know?" He asked.
"No, I don't even know it myself." I chuckled. "So, what are you doing here?"
"Apparently waiting for Tyler and Aaron, but guess they're not coming."
"Yeah, the girls said they would meet me here too and they haven't showed up." I sighed.
"I want to apologized for the past two weeks. I promise I won't have sex in your house."
"It's your house too. Just respect it a little more." I answered.
"Since everyone knows this, I think I should tell you too. My mom died the day of her birthday."
"I'm sorry." He said sincerely. "My dad was killed cause of a drunk driver."
"I'm sorry too." I grabbed his hand. I felt butterflies. What's happening to me?
"I'm tired of the pranks we pull, I just want to finish senior year in peace." He said while removing his hand from mine.
"Me too, so truce?"
"Truce." We shook hands.
We ordered some ice creams, and talked, we had a good time, it was weird but he was actually nice to talk
"You realized our friends stood us up on purpose." I told him.
"The joys of having friends like them." I couldn't help but laugh at that.
.........
After ice cream I went home and Elijah went to Mara's house.
"I'm home." I said and then went to my room. I'm not sure if I want to kill my friends or thank them. Maybe a little bit of both. I decided to go sit on the couch that was in the yard, it was almost time for sunset.
"Mind if I join?" I turned to see Elijah.
"Nope, go ahead."
"What happened to going to your girlfriend?"
"She's pissed, turns out Aaron left her locked in the janitors closet." I laughed.
"Are things good between you two?"
"Yeah, I like her, but from time is like something is missing there." He answered.
"No love? Passion?" I asked.
"Yeah, maybe it will come soon."
"If at first you don't feel that, then that relationship is going down the drain." He gave me a look. "If it lacks passion, what's the point." I shrugged.
"Ever felt that?" He asked.
"I had a boyfriend, but there wasn't passion, we lasted a month and he wanted to have sex. I wasn't ready for that, so he pretty much dumped me. I wasn't even hurt, but I guess love will never be on my side."
"Any guy you like now?"
"I'm not sure, it's confusing and scary." I answered while looking into his eyes.
"I think you should tell him, who knows, maybe he will like you back." He smiled.
"Maybe." I returned the smile.
"Well, gotta try and fix this with Mara. See you at dinner." He said before leaving.
I'm in trouble.
