After Party

I woke up with a major headache, why did I drink so much? I heard voices outside, since I was only in his shirt I grabbed some sweat pants and then made my way out.

"Morning drunkies." We heard the guys say to us.

"Why did you drink like that?" Elijah asked me.

"Because I got mad, you were being very friendly with a period head." I rolled my eyes.

"Holly is married, she's always been like that with all of us."

"She's married?"

"Yep, she got pregnant and her boyfriend wanted to get married." He replied.

"Oh, but a married woman can still cheat." I retorted.

"Yeah, but holly is madly in love with her husband, and she thinks we three are trouble."

"I'm gonna put a sign on your forehead that will say 'I'm taken by Danielle'."

"Possessive, I love it." He wrapped his arms around my waist. "You look so sexy in my clothes." I blushed.

"Breakfast is ready?" Tyler yelled. We went to sit on the kitchen island.

"So Bri and Jojo, how was shaking your butts." I asked, they just covered their faces.

"Don't remind me, I blame Jojo."

"I blame Bri."

"You both were to blame, last time you're drinking." Aaron told her.

"I agree, it was only cause of Elijah's birthday." She replied.

The week went by so fast, Cat and dad were home from their honeymoon, and we were off to school.

After all our classes, it was lunch time. Before heading to the cafeteria I went to the bathroom. As I was in the bathroom doing my bussines, two girls entered and started to talk shit, then I heard my name and Elijah's.

"It's so weird, like they're step siblings, stop dating."

"I know, Elijah shouldn't be with her, she's fat, she's ugly and she's his step sister."

"That's just eeww."

"Right, maybe I should get with Elijah, show him I'm so much better than his stupid hoe of a girlfriend."

They both laughed then made their way outside. I just sighed, were they right? I went to the cafeteria where my friends were.

"Aren't you gonna eat?" Elijah asked.

"Not hungry."

"You okay?" He started to interlace our fingers but I pulled away. I got up and left them, I pretty much ignored Elijah the whole day.

Finally it was time to go home, so I made a run to my car and drove off. At home I locked myself in my room.

"Dani, open up."

"No, just go away, We're over." I yelled.

"What, what's going?"

"We're over, now get lost, I don't love you anymore."

"Have it your way." He said before leaving.

I cried, I shouldn't let people get to me but I do, sometimes people walk over me. Elijah deserves someone better, someone beautiful, skinny and one that people will not see as weird cause their parents decided to get married.

Two weeks went by, Elijah and I didn't cross words, he left me alone. He's been hanging out more with Aaron and Tyler. Dad and Cat didn't get involved, they let us cool down, maybe they knew more than we do. Maybe they knew that at some point we would talk again.

Elijah comes home late, at school he pretty much doesn't give a shit, he's a whole new person. It was almost 1 am and he was still out.

The door opened, and in walked, Tyler and Aaron carrying Elijah.They went to put him on his bed.

"Dani, talk to him, he's going back to his old ways, before getting together with you." Aaron told me.

"He cried at the bar, he said that the love of his life cut him off like that." Tyler added.

"I will, thanks for bringing him." They both left. Good thing Cat and Dad weren't home.

I went to his room and saw he had tears on his cheeks. "Don't leave me." He said in his sleep.

My heart broke. "We'll talk in the morning." I whispered.

I changed his clothes and then made my way out.

Morning came and I did my routine and went to have breakfast with dad and Cat.

"Where's Elijah?" Cat asked.

"Sleeping, he's lazy on the weekends." I answered her. They just chuckled.

After breakfast I was in my room texting my friends, I didn't even realized Elijah was standing there. He closed the door and sat next to me.

"Why Dani? Why did you broke up with me? Have I done something?" His voice started to break. "I promise we can work things, I will-"  I cut him by putting my hand on his mouth, which he kissed it.

"You didn't do anything, it's just I overheard some girls saying how weird us being together is, and we're step siblings. They said you deserved someone beautiful, skinny. Cause apparently I'm a fat ugly person and a hoe." Tears started to fall.

"Dani, never listen to them, you mean everything to me, I don't care about looks, I love you for you and for your amazing big heart. As for the step sibling, we didn't grew up together, we just met in junior year, the only thing that tie us, is our parents getting married."

"It's not like we have the same last name, your dad didn't adopt me. So let those bitches talk crap."

He pulled me into a passionate kiss. Ive missed his lips so much. We pulled away and then he interlaced our fingers. "Does that feel weird?"

"No, everything with you feels perfect." I said as he wiped my tears.

"To hell with the people who see our relationship weird. A lot of people do worse, like getting involved with their step father, which is gross. That I can see being judged, but us, we aren't doing anything wrong." He told me.

He was right, Elijah always know what to say and how to make me feel better.

"I was planning on giving you this last week over a romantic dinner, but you pretty much change my plans." I just giggled.

He took out a little black velvet box revealing a beautiful ring. "Please accept this promise ring, a promise that I will replace it with an engagement ring, you mean everything to me. I love you Dani." He slid the ring on my finger. 

"I love you too." I hugged him.

"Promise me you will come to me before you decide to take matter in your hands."

"I promise, and I'm sorry when I said I didn't love you. Truth is, I love you so much, I can't imagine life without you." I caressed his face.

I shouldn't let people get to me. Elijah is my happy place, he makes me happy.
