(TIME SKIP: TWO MONTHS LATER)
Gabe's POV:
It has now been two months since I had to put Javi out of his misery and all I've been doing is looking around for somewhere to stay for a while since I've been walking nonstop for two months with only a little bit of rest. I also ran out of bottled water a few days ago and am extremely thirsty. Not only that, but I ditched my blue jacket for a nice brown one. I did keep my orange beanie however but I keep it in my bag for same keeping. There hasn't been anywhere to stop the whole time. There has only been open plains with tons of muertos on the way. I couldn't help but feel lonely.  I mean everyone I ever cared about is either dead or I haven't seen in years. I think I just have to get used to being on my own from now on. I guess it's just life around here.
As I kept walking, I came across a few more more muertos who tried to attack me. But it didn't take much effort to kill them. They went down pretty easily. After I killed off the last walker I pick my head up and saw a glimmering reflection of something right in front of me. "It's a lake!!!" I thought as I ran towards it to get a drink because I was so fucking thirsty. When I got to the lake I kneel down and immediately started to take a few drinks. "Ahhh! That's so much better." I said to myself as I then continued to drink that lake water. I kept on drinking until I was freaked out by a floating muerto that was in the water. "Eww! Gross!" I said to myself. But I was so thirsty That after if floated away, I just kept on drinking it.
"Row row row your boat gently down the stream. Merrily merrily merrily merrily life is but a dream." I heard a feminine voice sing out as I looked up to see a young boy and a girl sitting there on the small bridge just fishing. I quickly backed away from my drinking spot and begin to sneak around them. Maybe they had some supplies I needed since I was also really low on food. "Row row row your boat gently down the stream. If you see a crocodile don't forget to scream." She and the boy continued singing as I kept sneaking up around them. "Come on, AJ. That's your favorite song." The girl told the boy as I heard the boy respond, "It's a bad song. You shouldn't scream at all because if you do the monsters will come." "Yeah you're right kiddo. That song was written when kids didn't  have to worry about monsters." She continued as I began thinking a little bit.
"That girl's voice. It sounds so familiar." I thought to myself as I was now super close to them but they still didn't notice me. "I don't remember a time before there were monsters." The boy then told her. She then went over the rules they had about dealing with muertos and they seemed pretty natural. But that was until I heard her ask the boy, "And what do you do...If I get bit?" I then took this time to seize my moment and got out of my hiding spot. "Don't move, dipshits!" I yelled out as I jumped behind them and held a gun to the back of the girls head.
They both stood up as I saw the girl reach for her gun. "No no no no no. Don't even try it missy James." I told her as she then remover her hand from her holster. " No I'm not gonna hurt you. Not unless you make me. So if you two want to get out of this alive, then just turn around really slowly." I ordered them is the boy did exactly that. The boy turn around for us is I had no recollection of who that was. "You too lady. Just turn around nice and slowly and I won't pull the goddamn trigger." I told her again as she then began to turn around. When she finally revealed her face, my mind was in complete and utter shock.
