I walk through the gate to school and immediately see my BFF's run toward me. "April!!" they say as the wrap me in a hug. "Hey guys." I reply. "Ready for a day of learning?" They roll there eyes at me. "Yeah I know, that was lame. But seriously if we have another test today..." I say shaking my head. "Actually I'm pretty sure I saw one of the teacher hand out a bunch of tests to your teacher." says Brooke. Okay if this is true I'm going to go insane. "Seriously?" I say eyes wide. "Yeah. Isn't that right Evie?" she asks my other bestie turning her head. "Oh yeah. A whole pile about this big." Evie says making a example with her hands. "Boy, am I glad I'm not in your class." If these two are actually telling the truth I am probably gonna have a mental breakdown "Oh my god if you guys are being serious, I swear I will..-" Suddenly the two of them break into a laugh. "Oh April." says Brooke, tearing up. "We were just kidding hon. Don't get your hair in a knot." I take a deep sigh of relief, but before they knew what hit them, I started chasing them around the playground. At least I don't have any tests today.

I am now over by the swings, just talking with Evie and Brooke. As Evie is talking about something, I kinda zone off and scan my eyes around the play ground. Not looking for anything in particular. I'm about to zone back in but then I see someone over by the toilets. I'd recognise that face anywhere. It's Jason, my crush. He appears to be reading something, but I can't make out what. I need to get a closer look. I tell the girls I am going to the bathroom and walk off. Making sure he doesn't see me I go behind him and peer over him shoulder. It takes all of my restraint to not lay my head down and blow my cover. I read over his shoulder. I immediately see those words 'Top Secret.' I continue to read and notice that it is a letter from the lab. The same as I got except it has Jason's name instead of mine. Okay, now's time to confront him. "Hey Jason." I say. He jumps, turns around and stuffs the letter in his pocket, zipping it up. He's not making that mistake. Unlike me. "Oh hey April. Umm.... its a nice day isn't it?" he says obviously trying to ignore the fact that I clearly saw him doing something 'dodgey.' "Uh yeah it is. So what were you reading?" I say. This is where our awkward conversation starts.

"Oh that? That's nothing just some notes from my mum. They're very cringy I wouldn't want to read them if I were you."

"Well they can't really be nothing if you shoved them in your pocket when you saw me. So what are they really?"

"Why are you testing this April? Can't you just let it go? I already told you what they are. Why can't you just trust me?"

"Because I know when someone is lying to me. I can see it in their body posture, body language, facial expression and they way they react to me being there. So why don't you just tell me the truth?"

He immediately tries to perfect all the thing I pointed out, making himself look even guiltier. It was quite fun playing with him. Seeing if he was actually honest. Or if he was honest to me. I think I'll continue to play for a little bit longer. To see if he will actually tell the truth.

"But I am telling you the truth! They're just some embarrassing notes from my mum!"

"Okay then, why don't you show me so I know you aren't lying. If your telling the truth then I'll leave you alone."

"No! I don't want to show you. Trust me they are so embarrassing."

I think now is a good time to tell him that I know whats going on and that I have a letter to.

"It's okay Jason. I got one to."

"What?"

"Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about."

"Well I kinda have to if I don't know what your talking about."

"I got a letter from the la-"

Jason puts his hands over my mouth to stop me from speaking. A big jolt of excitement run through me as he does this but I try not to show it. "Not here!" he says quickly, whisper shouting. After this he drags me over to the big forest of trees next to our school. We are now out of eyesight and earshot from all of our fellow students.

"So you have a letter?" he say looking away. I need to think strategically about what I say from now on. "Yes I did." I staring at the back of his scull. "And if you are gonna talk me, I'm sure you can have the guts to look at who your speaking to." After this comment I immediately regretted it. Who speaks to there crush like that? Surprisingly he turns around and I am now looking into his gorgeous green eyes. He leans closer whispering now. "Show me." he says, his stare as hard as stone, but somehow still warm and safe.

"I-I can't." I say my confidence depleting very quickly. "Why not?" he replies with a questioning look. Okay I'm done with him treating me like a toy. I back up. "Have you ever had a little sibling?" I say. My confidence has now returned and I am ready to rule my world. "Answers the question." he says slowly creeping forward forcing me to back into a tree. "Why can't you show me?" Once I'm against the tree he continues to walk forward. We're now only inches apart. But I'm not gonna let that stop me. I push myself forward to show him that he can't get what he wants by making me feel threatened. Our faces are almost touching now. "I had to burn the evidence." I say. "My little sister saw the letter and told my mum that I had it. She wasn't able to read it but my mum would want to see it. I had to burn it so she wouldn't know what was going on." His face expression has almost fully gone back to normal. As much as I like being this close to my crush I need to go get to class and process this information. "If you don't believe me then just wait till Wednesday. I'll see you there." I turn to walk away but Jason grabs my arm. I turn my head to see his facial expression happy, happier than he was before. "I'm glad your going to the lab as well. At least I'm gonna know someone there. That is if I go." he says. I just smile and walk away.

Okay, this is probably the best day of my life. I just found out that my crush is going to the lab as well. Can this day get any better? Now I really can't wait for Wednesday. But now that I think about it, is he gonna go? I shouldn't worry about this now. I honestly can't believe that my crush is going. This is a dream come true.
