Time Skip
It is now Wednesday afternoon. I finally get to go to the lab. But before I can go I need to face my hardest challenge yet. Getting past my mum. Thankfully she isn't suspicious after what happened on Tuesday. At least I think she isn't. I decide to pack my bag with everything I would need before attempting to leave the house. As I pack my bag I come up with an idea so I can leave without my mum thinking anything different. I scan my bedroom for anything else I might need. I can't find anything so I grab my bag, take a deep breath and proceed to find my mum.
"Mum." I call out, hoping she will respond by going towards the noise. "I'm in the kitchen April." she replies. Not exactly what I wanted but it's good enough. I walk into the kitchen. "So mum. I'm going to Evie's house for the night and I wont be back till 4. Well at least some time around 4. I thought I should just let you know so your not stressing out about where I am." This is the moment of truth. It feels like it'd been a millennium and she still hasn't replied. Looks like she's putting quite a bit of thought to her answer. "That's fine, but what about school are you just gonna skip?" she finally replies. Dammit, I didn't think this through. "Oh um, if you allow me to then I will. I have been going through a lot of stress lately. You know with production and all the tests I've been doing." I reply continuously changing my facial expression. Oh did I forget to mention that I am actually a lead in the school production? Well I am. "I guess you can skip just for tomorrow. I say that you are sick. But you need to be back on Friday, Okay"
I really want to take a ginormous sigh of relief, but then my mum will know somethings up. "Yep definitely. I'll see you tomorrow. Bye." I turn and rush out the door.
I did it! I actually did it. Few, now I can go to the lab without any interruptions. I can't wait.
Time Skip
It is now 5.40 and I have arrived at the lab. I am so excited to go inside. Mainly because I get to see Jason. But also because I get to see who else is here. I may know some people. Maybe Evie or Brooke are here. Well I'll have to go inside to find out.
I grab my bag and jump off the bus before it stops moving. I am so eager to get inside that I'm not even thinking. Luckily I make it inside without breaking any bones. I immediately notice three familiar faces. Jason, Tom, and Ella. Tom is a boy in my class with a very big sense of humour. He's also one of Jason's best friends. Ella, I've know since kindergarten. We never talked or hung out , but if I were to get partnered up with her at school or just pass her at lunch, I wouldn't be rude and not talk to her. I notice that there are only 9 kids here, not including me. So there are only five kids left to come. That means that I could know five more kids coming to this experiment.
Very Small Time Skip
It's been about five minutes and everyone has arrived. The only person I knew was Brittney. Urg why did it have to be Brittney. I would have taken anyone other than Brittney. This will be fun. Unless for some reason Brittney leaves me alone. She's probably gonna be on her phone the entire time so I shouldn't have to worry about her.
Brittney is the most ill-mannered person at the school. She acts like she is better than everyone. Trust me everyone in the school hates her. The only people that actually like her are her friends Tiffany and Lexie. They think that they're so cool as well, but really they're not. Neither is Brittney. There are some people that pretend to like them out of fear, but they actually hate her. Enough talk about Brittney, they're about to take us on a tour.
Currently I am just sitting down by myself, being a loner. I haven't spoken to Ella in ages, so I should go and say hi to her. I walk over. "Hi Ella, remember me." I say smiling. She gives me a puzzled look and then her face is clouded by realization. "Oh yeah your April right? We were in the same class in year 5 and we went to kindergarten together." she said obviously proud that she remembered me. My smile widens "That's me." I say doing a finger gun because why not. "Um April you're the only person I know here, well apart from Brittney so I was wondering if I could hang out with you during this, uh experiment?" she asks fiddling with her hands.
"Of course, I don't know to many people her either so your not alone. I can introduce you to some other people I know if you want. They go to our school." Ella's eyes lit up when I said this. She obviously was into the idea. "That would be amazing!" she said enthusiastically. "But we'd better hurry they're probably gonna start the tour soon it's 5.47."
I lead her over to Jason and Tom to introduce her. I'm not sure if they've noticed me yet, so this should be interesting. "Hey boys, fancy seeing you here." I say looking at Jason "Yeah, I didn't know you got a letter April." replies Tom. "Well I did, so guys this is Ella. She was in my class in year 5 and I've know her since kindergarten. Ella this is Jason and Tom. Wait what class are you in right now Ella?" I say. "Room 13." She replies, smiling. Tom and I are in room 1 and Jason is in room 4. "Hi." Jason and Tom say in unison. Just as we're about to make conversation, someone speaks up from the front of the entrance hall. "Hello everyone, my name is Kate. Time for a tour."
