Octavia looked down at her phone in disbelief. It had been two years since she and Jack had contact with each other. He kept her blocked after their breakup. Octavia got little updates from the squad back home, but that was only when it was something they felt she should see. For example, he made a lot of posts about missing Octavia, though he never mentioned her name. They also made conspiracies about what songs were about her. Octavia hated it with every once of her being. She was trying so hard to focus on herself, and her friends knew that, but here they were telling her all about Jack and how terrible she made him feel.

Of course, when Jack commented on her post, the fans and her friends went crazy. Octavia couldn't keep up with the freak out comments coming in. Eventually, she had to disable the comments, which she didn't want to do. She wanted to see feedback for her hard work, not fangirl comments about Jack. Then, Miley texted the group-chat with all-caps messages asking all kinds of questions. Octavia didn't want to deal with it. She told them she was busy and she'd talk in the morning, then turned off her phone.

That night, she cried while watching Romantic Dramas. She couldn't cry just over the fact that she missed Jack, but it'd been bottled up for so long that she needed it to come out. If she had to watch sad movies to get those tears to flow, she would and did. After a long night of sobbing, she fell asleep with her laptop on her lap and a bowl of popcorn at her side.

-----

Jack was elated to hear that Octavia came out with her first line of clothing. he knew that was an important step in her dreams being accomplished, which meant she was closer to taking him back in her life. So, on the boys' request, he unblocked her and left a comment and like on the reveal post. Of course, the fans went crazy, but Octavia did everything in her power to delete the comments from the post. Then, she disabled the comments. He knew it was because of him and he knew that she didn't want to do it.

He tried to send her a DM to apologize, but he never got a response. She never even opened it, which made his heart sink. He tried to rationalize the situation, but it didn't make the feeling go away. He missed her with every atom in his body. He'd been missing her for the past two years. He couldn't do anything about it though. He wanted to respect her wished and give her the time she needed to find herself and realize her dreams. He wanted to be apart of it, though. He supported her behind a double-sided mirror, thanks to the boys and fan accounts that he kept up with.

He kept checking his phone and waiting for her response, but it still hadn't been opened. The boys were on a break after the worldwide tour, so he was back home in Pennsylvania to be with his family. The other boys were doing the same. He knew that he was close to Octavia. He was a short drive away from her. What if she answers my DM and we start talking again? What if she askes me to come down and see her? What if things go back to the way they were? What if- stop. She still has two more years of school to go before she'll be possibly ready to leave New York. She loves it there. What if she never wants to leave? What if we never get back together? What if she moves on? What if I never get to call her mine again?

Jack stopped himself once tears were pooling over the edge of is lower lashline. He wiped the stray tears away and held the rest in his throat. He fought them for a long time until his throat was hurting so bad that he couldn't take it anymore. He let them go and they poured out like sheep being let out of their pin. He cried and screamed into his pillow until he fell asleep while the negative "what ifs" filled his head.

Octavia was awakened by the aggravating sound of her alarm. She stretched out her legs, the laptop slipping to her side, and slowly opened her eyes. She rubbed her swollen eyes and looked around. The events of the night flooded back to her. She rolled her eyes at herself and cleaned up her bed while stretching out her body. She had a class today, so she had to hustle to get ready. She decided she didn't want to put in much effort after the night she had, so she threw on a pair of losing jeans, a plain tank top, a hoodie, and a pair of sneakers. She threw her hair into a sloppy bun and skipped makeup. She washed her face and applied some moisturizer and eye cream, then brushed her teeth.

She grabbed her bag and her keys from the side of her bed and rushed out the door. She always locked her door, of course, then took the stairs to the bottom floor, even if she was wearing heels. On her way to the subway, she'd grab a coffee at Starbucks. She got an extra shot of espresso today. She needed it. Then, she made her way to the subway and waited for the train she needed. There was usually a few other students who waited with her, but they weren't there this morning. She put in her headphones and listened to her "pick me up" playlist.

On the Subway, she noticed someone's necklace was almost all the way lit. It remained that way throughout the ride. That probably meant that his soulmate was in another car. He wasn't even paying attention. He was ignoring it. Octavia stood up and walked over to him. "Your necklace is lit," Octavia mentioned with a smile.

"It always is when I take the subway. It slowly goes out at a certain spot every day," he replied politely.

"So, get off at that spot and go find him or her," Octavia encouraged.

"I don't want to be late for my job!"

"Would you rather get in trouble at work for missing one day, or lose your soulmate?"

"I-"

"No. Get off at that stop and get that soulmate, honey!"

The man nodded and smiled pridefully before saying, "Thank you..."

"Octavia."

"Wait! You're that designer on Instagram?"

"Uh, yeah! I am."

"My little sister loves your page and your clothes."

"Really? I'd love to write her a note or record a video for her."

"I have a notepad in my pocket. Hold on." He pulled out a small notepad and pen, then handed it to Octavia. "Her name is Quinn."

Octavia nodded and wrote, 'Quinn, I am so thankful to have your support. Your dreams are always achievable. -Octavia Blossom.' She handed the materials back to him and gave him a warm smile. "What was your name?"

"Oh, right! My name is Greg," he laughed while holding out his hand. Octavia took it gratefully and shook it firmly once.

"It was lovely to meet you, Greg, but this is my stop. Goodluck with your soulmate!"

"Thank you, Octavia! I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow."

Octavia waved goodbye and exited the subway. She wondered if he knew about the drama between her and Jack. She wondered if his sister knew. She wondered if she even had the right to help him get his soulmate when she let her's go. She had to push those thoughts away, though, and focus on the lecture of the day.
