Surprise

Jane applied a light coat of mascara and some lipgloss before her FaceTime date with Zach, like she did every time. Jane had already gotten her Necklace and tried it on. When the lights told her that Zach probably wasn't her soulmate she took it off and hung it on her wall instead. She liked Zach. She might even love him. She wasn't going to make the same mistake Daniel did. She did one last checkup in the mirror, making sure her hair was decent, then ran to her room and called Zach.

"Hello, Beautiful," Zach beamed through the phone.

"Hello, handsome," Jane replied with a wide grin. "How was your day?"

"Really good! I did some online shopping. What about you, babe?"

"I went over to Natalia's place and hung out with her and Opal. That baby is so picky! This is going to be weird, but she'll only drink from Natalia's left boob. So, she has to pump the other one. That was too much information, huh?"

"Just a little bit," Zach chuckled. Jane couldn't tell if he was blushing or not since his cheeks were always red.

"What'd you buy today?"

"I bought you a little surprise. It should be coming in the next few days," Zach admitted.

"Zachary Dean Herron," Jane grunted.

"What? I'm just buying a present for my girl."

"Yeah, but there's no occasion or anything! You don't have to buy me stuff."

"But I want to, so I did. I hope you like it."

"I'll like it because it's from you and you know me too well."

"I should hope so," Zach giggled.

"You're the best."

"So are you, Jane."

A few days later, a package was waiting for Jane on her front porch. She grabbed the package and ran to her room. She opened it with a pair of safety scissors. Underneath the wrapping was a brand new Canon T6 EOS. Jane had been wanting one for years now. She grabbed it from the box and screamed as loud as she could. Her mom came running to her room with worry. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing! Zach got me the camera," Mikey yelled as she shoved the camera into her mother's arms. Her mother I prayed the box and smiled widely.

"He's such a sweet boy. When is he coming over again? I miss him."

"Mom. Stop."

"What? I miss my future son in law."

"Mom!"

"Okay! I'm sorry. I'll leave. Call him and thank him."

"I want to get him something," Jane mentioned before her mom could leave.

"Do you have something in mind?"

"I think so. I'm going to ask the boys to make sure," Jane replied with a smirk. Her mother laughed and left the room. Jane sent Zach a text since he was in a meeting at the moment.
