Octavia woke up to the sound of her alarm. She reluctantly got out of bed and hopped into the shower. She decided to listen to all of the music she missed from the boys. So many of them were obviously written by Jack about her. It made her sad to listen to the lyrics. She couldn't believe he'd been feeling like that for two years. Guilt bundled up in her stomach because she was doing okay during that time. She missed him and cried at least once a week at how much she missed him, but he seemed to be hurting so much more. She planned to make it right, though.
She decided to wear something simple; a pair of 70s dress pants, a yellow blouse, and some baby blue platform heals. She threw her hair up in a ponytail and pulled out some baby hairs on the sides. Then, she added some minimalistic makeup to fit her 70s vibe for the day. Overall, she was pleased with the look she composed, so she grabbed her purse and keys and walked out the door to meet Jack at his apartment.
From his apartment, they were going to take the subway to each location in their personalized tour of Octavia's favorite placed in the big city mixed in with some of its famous tourist attractions. Their first stop was her relatively new office, which still needed an assistant to occupy it. So, Octavia gave him the Metro Card she bought for him and they set off to the subway. Jack had used the Subway before, but that was a long time ago on a family day trip. When he got famous, he couldn't afford to be noticed. So, he opted for Uber instead.
They got on their train, which was pretty crowded already. It was about time for everyone to head to school or work, so it was understandable. There was a group of girls that must have either noticed Jack or Octavia because their eyes got wide as the couple loaded onto the train. They snapped a few pictures, then took to social media. "I guess that outs our reborn relationship," Octavia joked with a smile.
"I guess so," Jack replied with a happy grin. Octavia took a moment to look at him again. She couldn't believe he'd changed so much. She couldn't believe she liked it. Part of his appeal before was his mess of curls, but he looked sexy with the lose waves framing his face. They stopped just below his cheekbones, which defined them and drew more attention to his eyes. Octavia loved his eyes. They were a fiery red color with accents of gold. She felt a smile tug on her lips as she stared into them.
"Have I ever told you how much I love your eyes," Octavia commented to break the silence and explain her stare.
"I think so. Maybe once or twice," Jack laughed. She had told him before. When things were silent, she'd tell Jack how amazing his eyes were. It was her go to compliment, and he loved it.
"Well, I do. I missed looking into them," she whispered after licking her lips.
"I missed looking into yours, too, Tavia," Jack whispered back. He planted a delicate kiss in her forehead and pulled her into his side by her waist.
"We got off in two stops," Octavia announced after awhile. The girls had snapped some more photos of the couple cuddling and posted them to social media as well. "How about we turn off our phones when we get there? Let's just be with each other. I have a camera at the office that we can use to take pictures."
"Sounds perfect," Jack complied. They got off the train and walked out into the daylight of New York. Octavia grabbed onto Jack's hand and lead him to the building her office was located in. She spoke with the guard up front, got into the elevator and asked the second guard for her floor. She waved goodbye to the man and exited the elevator. Her space three doors away from the elevator. She walked in and threw her hands up in the air.
"Ta-da! What do ya think?" She wakes over to the couch they set up and plopped down on it. Jack took a moment to look around and nodded slowly as he took everything in.
"This is amazing, Tavia. My girlfriend is fashion designer with her own professional office!" Jack walked over to the couch and sat down next to Octavia with a wide grin.
"My boyfriend is a successful artist with his own professional music," Octavia mimicked with red cheeks.
"He sounds like a pretty cool guy," Jack joked with a stupid smirk.
"Eh. He thinks he is," Octavia teased. Jack pretended to pout and shook his head. "Awe. Is my baby boy offended?" Jack nodded. "Will kisses make it all better?" Jack tried not to smile and nodded. Octavia smiled at him and planted a kiss on his cheek. "All better?" Jack shook his head and pointed to his lips. Octavia blushed and tried to catch her breath. She wanted to kiss him, but she had no idea if she was ready. Don't let fear ruin this moment, Octavia. She leaned in and kissed him slowly, hooking her hand on the back of his neck and resting her thumb on his jaw. Jack immediately kissed her back, holding onto her cheek to keep her from pulling away. Octavia could feel the sparks that she felt the first time they kissed.
"All better," Jack mumbled as he pulled away.
"Are you sure? I think I can still sense a little bit of-" Octavia started, but Jack didn't let he finish. He reconnected their lips and pulled her into his lap. Octavia felt her cheeks heat up at the motion. She wasn't expecting them to be like this so soon. She wasn't opposed to it, though. Just shocked. Then, the door came open, followed by the voice of one Margaret LeFlour complaining about traffic. Then, her ramble stopped and turned it I a guy of giggles. "Hi, Margaret. This is Jack. Jack, that's Margaret," Octavia sighed from Jack's lap. Jack's cheeks turned bright red as he waved at the woman.
"It's nice to meet you, young man, even in these awkward circumstances," Margaret chimed.
"You too, Mrs. LeFlour."
"Call me Margaret, darling."
"Do you know where that little camera is, Margie?" Octavia gave Jack a peck on the cheek before getting If his lap and going to hug the elderly woman.
"It should be in that blue bucket with the others. What do you have planned today, my sweet baby?" Margaret sat down next to Jack and let out a heavy sigh.
"We're going sight seeing, but it's going to be way more awesome than anything he could pay for," Octavia explained as she searched for the camera.
"I hate to break it to you, baby, but he can pay for that," Margaret hinted with a smirk.
"Margie!" Octavia shot her a look and shook her head, then continued to rummage through the blue bucket. She found the camera she was looking for and held it up in victory. She looked at Jack and saw him blushing and staring at her. "I have a camera right here. If you take a picture it'll last longer."
"That camera could never do you justice, Tavia," Jack replied confidently. Octavia couldn't help but allow a cheesy grin to spread across her face. "That was pretty good. Right, Margaret?"
"If you were a few years older..." the woman teased.
"Margie, you can't steal my man," Octavia laughed. "I just got him back."
"I would never, baby. Have fun on your little tour! Be sure to use protection... or don't. I wouldn't mind a grand baby. I'll be here checking up on those possible assistants."
"Okay. There was a lot wrong with that, but I'm going to ignore it. I love you, bye," Octavia replied while pulling Jack out the door.
"She's a lot," Jack commented with a look of shock.
"Yeah. So are you, Jackity Jack Jack. That little move you pulled back there..." Octavia replied shaking her head.
"Was it too much?" Jack looked a bit embarrassed at his actions, but also very proud. Octavia draped her arms on his shoulders and pulled him in for a deep kiss. She pulled away and bit her lip before smiling and walking ahead of him. Jack took a moment to process everything, then grinned and jogged to catch up with her.
