Chapter 45

After a few minutes Anabella left, Alexander felt completely heartbroken, he needed her to know what she saw really wasn't what she saw. He fumbled to get his phone out of his pocket, wiping away his tears he called Jeremy. It rang a couple of times before he answered,

"Yo sup?" he said, Alexander sighed but said nothing, "this nigga butt dialled me?" he sucked his teeth loudly,

"Nah I'm here" he said, his voice was shaky,

"Bro, you alright?" Jeremy's concern was genuine, he was actually shocked, he hadn't heard him sound so shaken up in a very long time. Alexander's lowest moment he was with Jeremy but for some reason he felt like he was in more pain than being starved and beaten,

"I fucked up" he said running his hand through his hair, "I fucked up bad, she's never gonna forgive me"

"Who Ana?"

"Yea, she saw us"

"She saw you with that bitch?" Jeremy groaned, he told Alexander the plan was a bad idea, he tried to talk him out of it, but he understood his intentions. He warned him not to go anywhere Anabella liked, "let me guess you took her Limegrove?" Jeremy quipped, Alexander could hear the disappointment in his tone. Alexander's silence answered his question, Jeremy heaved a heavy sigh,

"I just thought I could fix this, take the weight off of her. I just wanted us to be happy" he paced outside, he was in no position to go back to Destiny and pretend he cared about her.

"Ok, relax. I really don't know what we could do now, just take a minute before you go back to Destiny, I'll go talk to Anabella"

"Are you sure? I mean I have no idea where she went" Alexander swallowed hard, he had a feeling he lost her this time and it was all his fault.

"Yes, you're not in the frame of mind to talk to her, plus you have to keep up appearances with Destiny" Jeremy reasoned, "I won't tell her what the plan was I'll just talk to her I guess, I really don't know what I'd say"

"Could you tell her I love her?" he asked,

"I think she would prefer hearing that from you"

"Yea I guess you're right"

"I'll call you after I talk to her" Jeremy said before he hung up. Alexander leaned against the building clearing his mind, he hoped Jeremy could at least give him a few more days just to get Destiny to confess.

He slowly walked back to the car and got his wallet before heading back to the others. He approached the table as they spoke, Lynn and Michael saw him first since they were facing him while Destiny was backing. She noticed their faces before looking back at Alexander, his face was emotionless,

"Hey baby are you alright?" she asked as he sat,

"Yea I fine," a weak slanted smile pulled at his lips,

"Are you sure? You look so dull, do you want to leave? We could get the food and go" Destiny went on, Alexander held her hand under the table before kissing her on her lips, she blinked wildly, it was the first time he kissed her in public. Her cheeks became flushed as she thought about Michael and Lynn watching them, she closed her eyes becoming trapped in his kiss, he pulled away looking at her in the eyes before whispering,

"Everything's perfect" she nodded, smiling sweetly at him, Lynn's mouth was open in shock, with her eyes wide, she was confused. She knew seeing Anabella affected him but not in this way. Alexander kissing Destiny the way he did almost made her think he actually felt something for her. Michael slapped her under the table and she closed her mouth quickly before they turned to them.

The rest of the afternoon was pleasant before they returned to the apartment. Lynn and Michael went into their room leaving Alexander and Destiny to go in theirs, Lynn hadn't said a word to Alexander since the kiss. She had no idea what to say, they came into this plan trying to get him away from Destiny forever and now he's kissing her like she actually means something to him, she was a nice girl, she liked her, but she wasn't his girl. Lynn was furious, she wanted to go into their room and ask him what the fuck was going on but it wasn't the time to ask. Lynn sat on the bed tapping her foot loudly, Michael looked at her, he could feel the arguing coming. He tried to go about pressing his work clothes, but the constant tapping of her foot was bothering him,

"Uh-" was all he sounded before she started in a hushed voice,

"Is he fucking serious? Out here kissing her like he loves her, he loves Anabella. I can't believe I actually agreed to help him with this bullshit" she rolled her eyes, he went over to her stooping in front of her kissing her stomach,

"Babe don't worry about it," he said quickly trying to defuse her anger, she frowned and her eyes darkened,

"excuse me? Don't worry about it? Have you completely lost your damn mind?" she shoved his shoulders and he fell back, "This is my best friend we're talking about here, this is going to break her" she began to sob,

"maybe we should've told her" Michael said hugging her,

"I just pushed her away, I should've been with her" Lynn cried against his chest, Michael knew this would've backfired, and these tears from Lynn definitely weren't her hormones. The look on Anabella's face actually hurt him, it was like watching her die on the inside.

"come on baby this isn't your fault" he comforted her, kissing her gently, she jolted not only from the kiss but she felt a light kick in her stomach,

"Omg, I felt a kick!" she practically screamed at him, he lifted her spinning her around before kissing her again,

"I love you," Michael said smiling like a proud father.

Destiny slept in Alexander's arm when she heard shouting through the walls, her eyes fluttered open looking around, she was trying to figure out where the noise was coming from,

"Baby" she shook him "Wake up" Alexander groaned,

"What is it?"

"Don't you hear that screaming?" Destiny asked,

"What scre-"

"HOW COULD YOU ASK ME THAT!" Lynn's shouting cut him off,

"BECAUSE I NEED TO FUCKING KNOW!" Michael replied,

"What are they even arguing about?" Destiny asked worried,

"IS THE BABY EVEN MINE!?" silence followed,

"OF COURSE ITS YOURS"

"LYNN DON'T FUCKING LIE TO ME I KNOW YOU WERE FUCKING THAT NIGGA" Michael replied, Destiny and Alexander exchanged looks before they heard a crash of glass,

"Omg" Destiny whispered as they jumped from the bed,

"Stay here" Alexander said to Destiny before leaving the bedroom to investigate, he couldn't believe Michael was behaving like this with Lynn, he could be endangering two lives.
