As I heard people talking around me I was unsure what was going on but when my eyes adjusted to the surroundings I was in the hospital.
" Oh Thank God Your Awake ". Jake said
" Why Wouldnt I be ". I asked
" The doctors said you may be in a coma for years ". He said
" For years ?! , How long was I out ?". I asked
" You were out for 1 week ". He said
" Oh no , Sarah needs to get enrolled into that school ... and she needs new clothes ". I said panicking
" Dont worry its all been taking care of ". He said
" Wait what ?". I asked
" I took Sarah to go and get clothes she is already enrolled into the school and her first day of school is in 2 days ". He said
" Oh No I have to get out of here ... why am I even here ". I asked
" Thats what we are trying to figure out ". He said
I sat up quickly finally remembering the reason why I was here. As I sat up the doctor came in.
" Okay son , Visiting hours are over ". The doctor said
Jake walked out of the room and it all was coming back to me why I was here and what happened that night and morning
" Whos that ... boyfriend ?". The doctor asked
" Its un decided ". I added
" Well that young man has been here for you ever since you got in here. He even brung this little adorable girl here with him she looks just like you ! ". The doctor said
" Thats my daughter ". I said laughing
" Wow you are so young with a daughter already ". He asked
" Yeah its complicated ". I added
" Wow , well you are here because of a coma that you were in ". The doctor said
" Can you go more into detail about it for me ?". I asked
" Yes of course , see A coma is a prolonged state of unconsciousness. During a coma, a person is unresponsive to his or her environment. The person is alive and looks like he or she is sleeping. However, unlike in a deep sleep, the person cannot be awakened by any stimulation, including pain ". He said
" Wow , what caused it to come to this ?". I asked concerned
" Comas are caused by an injury to the brain. Brain injury can be due to increased pressure, bleeding, loss of oxygen, or buildup of toxins. The injury can be temporary and reversible. It also can be permanent ". He said
" So is mines permanent ". I asked
" Well No , Not from my studies but see another Hospital wants to see you and do a big scan over you and then we will no if its permanent or not ". He said
" Do you have any treatments for it .. I really need to get out of here by today ". I said
" uhm , well treatment for a coma depends on the cause of it. Prompt medical attention is vital to treat potentially reversible conditions. For example, if there is an infection that's affecting the brain, antibiotics may be needed. Glucose may be required in the event of a diabetic shock. Surgery may also be necessary to relieve the pressure on the brain due to swelling or to remove a tumor.
