"I'm sorry... Do you wanna tell me about it?" You ask as you look at Slim, he sniffles a little and gets on his knees on the floor and stroke his fingers through the blood, it hadn't hardened yet; it was still fresh. Warm and thick liquid all over the floors.
"I was 15 years old, this happened all two years after I met Lucy and after she died..." He mutters, using I instead of he to tell the story this time, personalizing it. You look down at him and slowly put your hand on his shoulder, noticing how hard his shoulder was - geez he must work out a lot, his shoulders are like solid rocks. He sniffles a little. "Instead of telling you, I'll show you... How old are you?" He looks up in your green eyes.
"I turn 15 in 26 days..." You nod as he nods a little in return and keep sitting on his knees on the floor.
"I'll stay here, you go downstairs to Hector..." He nods, you look at him for a while, then do as he says and walk downstairs. The house cleaned itself up as you made your way downstairs, the blood that covered the walls faded away along with the mess all over the house. As you get to the last step of the stairs, you see them all seated by the dinner table.
15 year old Hector sitting beside his father, his brown curly hair almost covering his blue eyes as he was eating the scrambled egg on his plate while wearing a white t-shirt and light grey sweats. His father wore his work-overalls as he drank some orange juice, his mother feeding 3 year old Susie-Rose with a big smile on her face. It all seemed so perfect and sweet, pure...
Hector looks up as he finishes his food and makes a grimace to Susie, causing his little sister to laugh a contagious laugh that filled the room, making both of their parents smile at the sound. She bounces in her chair and reaches out to Hector.
"Slimmie Hector!!" She says with a giggle, you frown. Slimmie.. So that's where it comes from?
I was a skinny kid, slim. She poked fun at it, but who can be mad at that sweet little girl...
You hear in your head and smile a little, happy to know he cared so much... Brenda turns and faces Hector.
"Sweetie, why don't you take Susie in her stroller and go buy groceries for me while I clean up after dinner?" She asks and gets up, Hector nods.
"Sure mama." He gets up too and lift Susie up with another grimace to her so she laughed and reached for his face with a big grin. You walk with Hector and Susie out of the house as he puts her in the stroller and walks down the sidewalk to the closest Walmart. Listening as Hector kept making grimaces and making Susie laugh. You wait outside the store thoughtfully as they went inside.
"Not to be rude or anything Slim... But how can someone as sweet as Hector turn into someone like you?" You ask out loud, getting weird looks from people passing you. You bite down on your lip, right. You can't speak up in the middle of a public space, c'mon...
You'll see.
Hector and Susie comes out the store with a couple of grocery bags in the stroller while Susie held Hectors right hand as he kept control of the stroller with his left.
"What do you say about we go deliver this to mama and dad, then go to the playground for the rest of the day?" Hector says with a cheery voice and a smile while looking down at his little sister looking up at him with her big blue eyes.
"Yes yes yes!!" She jumps up and down as he chuckles, you walk after them back home. Susie was jumping with each step, showing off her abilities of walking and how good she was at not falling over. Smiling and being happy until they reached back home, Hector stops by the driveway as he sees the open doors broken lock. He crouches down to Susie and looks at her serious.
