It's the next day in homeroom and Lexi and I are watching a Falling In Reverse music video. We are in the back of the class so no one can peer over and act like a douche. Then I look at the time and say,
"Shit I better pack everything up."
"Let the music video finish. You know I love Bad Girls Club!" she whines.
"Ugh fine." Then after the music video ends, Lexi starts to go for another, but I pull the iPhone away from her before she can do anything. Then she whines and gets her stuff together too.
"I'll see you at lunch." I say.
"See ya." she responds. I was about to walk out the door when I herd,
"Hey Vikki." I turn to see Jonathan with a grin on his face, but his eyes looked sad.
"Hey. You okay?" I said. I knew when a person had been recently been crying. Because I see it on my face everyday.
"Yeah. I'm totally fine. I hope you weren't going to ignore me all day. Especially after yesterday."
"No. Of course not. I just wanted to get to class. What's your first class?"
"History. I hate it, but at least I don't have to drudge about it all day."
"Lucky, that's my last block." He laughs mockingly and I give him the shut the hell up look.
"What class are you heading to?"
"Algebra."
"Okay. Can I walk you over to class?" I didn't want him to miss his class, but I didn't want to be rude.
"Um, sure, thanks." He seems really happy to me accepting his invitation. As we are walking, we aren't saying much. I start to get this butterfly feeling in my stomach. I realise that whenever I'm with him, I get that feeling. I recognize this feeling. Then I get scared. Because I've felt it before. And I got hurt for it. So I make a mental note to tell Jordan that I need to talk to Sebi during lunch. I don't know how I'm going to be able to slip away without Jonathan noticing. I'll just get out of math early and tell Jordan to make sure he gets out early too so we can claim a spot under the bleachers. That's where he has his conferences. Then we get to my class, Jonathan says,
"See you at lunch." Then walks up to his first class. Shit. Now he's going to be wondering where I'm going and will be asking questions. Oh well. When I walk in, I look around for Jordan and when I spot her, I walk over. Then I ask her,
"Hey could you text Sebi if he could get out of his second class a little early so we could talk during lunch?"
"Yeah, sure. Hang on just a sec." Then she looks through her bag and pulls her phone out. When she gets a text back she tells me,
"Leave class five minutes early. Then go to the bleachers. He'll be there ready."
"Thanks." She nods. I go to my seat just as Mr. Hicks calls everyone to order. I couldn't stop thinking about what Sebi is going to stay. I was nervous. As usual.
