Chapter 8

The assignment was that Mr. Blackberry would give us all two scenes from the book. There were twenty-eight scenes all together, so one group would have three scenes then the rest would have two. Jonathan and I had Act 3; Scene 4 and 5. We looked over scene four and five, I checked five. I saw that it was the scene of the morning after Romeo and Juliet had made love. My eyes grew wide in shock and butterflies went wild in my stomach.

"Why do I always get the awkward scenes?" I thought to myself. We were supposed to write a essay on each scene discussing the emotions exchanged and a summary of what happened in each chapter. On Monday we were going to present them to the class. I was never good at class presentations. I always got social anxiety, hopefully Jonathan had more confidence than I do. Finally the bell rang. As I was getting my things in my bag Jonathan said,

"Can I come over today after school so we can work on this?"

"Yeah sure. I have to get to biology." I said.

"Cool. My next class is art. We are going to make posters for this year's Warped Tour!" he winked at me and I started laughing.

"You wish."

"I know. But guys can dream too!!" I giggled.

"You know, you have a cute laugh." That made me instantly blush.

"Oh um, well, um, thanks." I stuttered. Dammit Vikki what's wrong with you?

"No problem. I'll see you when you get out of history."

"See ya." Then he left and I was still blushing all the way to class.

When I got to biology I saw Lexi sitting at our table. I was smiling, but the blush had gone away. She still knew better.

"What, did Jonathan finally ask you out or something?" she said jokingly.

"Shut up. We are doing Romeo and Juliet together in English." I snapped back.

"I thought Jack sat next to Jonathan. Isn't that what you told me last night?"

"He does, well did." she gave me a confused look. "I gave him my number if he would take my seat. He won't take a hint though. I keep saying no, but he keeps asking me out. Maybe Jonathan was a good enough hint. He gave him the most jealous look I think I've ever seen." Then Lexi just burst into laughter. Biology was a bore as usual, I just couldn't wait until the day was finally over.
