11. New Best Friend

I wake up this morning feeling fresh, I think that a lot of times I've chose to be negative and hateful towards everyone for something they couldn't control, and now that I've excepted that bitterness is a choice, I'm going to try my best to opt against it.

I walk into social science, the class I share with Ethan who I've been getting somewhat close to lately. I mean depending on how you describe close. we sit together every class and with him I joke around and he makes me laugh which is rare. With Ethan, I don't feel pressured to act a certain way. He makes me super comfortable and is someone I could see myself really opening up to and getting use to having around. The only complaint I have is that he looks like Grayson. It's like With Grayson I hold all of the weird sparks and energy, but get no comfort or answers, and with Ethan I get the exact opposite, one brother offers what the other leaves behind.

"Hey loser!" I say as I nudge him lightly sitting down.

"Good morning to you too sunshine." He smiles at me as Mr. Jackson hands back yet another packet causing a sigh to leave my lips.

"Hey now it could be worse." Ethan says which makes me shoot him a look.

"I'm bored looking at it." I say as I look back down to the three papers stapled together sloppily.

"Yeah me too." Ethan laughs lightly at first put then choking on his spit as he begins to laugh uncomfortably.

"It wasn't that funny!" I laugh harder seeing him laughing. As Ethan tries to catch his breath.

"Mr. Jackson's ass crack is all the way out." Ethan leans closer to me, still laughing, as he whispers what caused his outburst.

I turn around to the scariest sight I had ever seen. and turn back around laughing along with Ethan while pretending to throw up.

The rest of the class flies by and neither me or Ethan have even touched our packets which where due next period.

"Hey do you wanna come over and actually do this with me tonight so I don't have to face it alone." I ask as I pack up my book bag.

"Yeah sure!" Ethan smiled widely almost seeming overjoyed by my offer.

"Thank god" I sigh as I pull out my phone and shoot him a text with my address. "Just come over whenever." I say before throwing my book bag over my shoulder and leaving the classroom and going on with the rest of my day.

I walk into my empty house and run up to my bathroom, taking off my make up and grabbing a few towels.

E: hey ill be over in like 10 if thats cool?

I smile at my phone knowing that tonight was going to be fun.

Me: sweet bring something to swim in

E: should i even bring the packet

I let out a small laugh

Me: honestly no lol

E: thats what i thought lol ill be over in a few

I read the message and close my phone, running to my room and changing into an all black bathing suit from o'neil

once I'm done getting ready I hear a knock at the door, making me jolt up from my bed and run down the stairs in excitement.

"Hey come on in!" I exclaim as Ethan walks through the large glass doors and into the the kitchen.

"So how was the rest of your day?" Ethan laughs as he grabs an apple out of the fruit basket, ripping the sticker off and taking a bite.

"Really good actually." I laugh "how about yours?"

"As good as it can be." Ethan says rolling his eyes, taking another bits of his apple. "so I'm guessing you haven't seen Grayson at all today." Ethan says with a mouth full of fruit.

"Uh no I haven't but why do you say that?" I ask taking His apple and taking a bite myself.

"Cause you had a good day." Ethan chuckles as he takes the apple back.

"haha very funny." I roll my eyes. "c'mon lets go swim idiot." I laugh taking the large t-shirt off that I had put on over my bathing suit.

the rest of the night was spent swimming with Ethan and honestly just growing closer together, he told me all about his ex girl friend and how he's happy single and he's finding himself and honestly I respect that. Me and Ethan were together for hours that felt no longer then minutes and I wouldn't have it any other way.

The best part of tonight was the fact that not only did I not have to see Grayson or deal with his confusing presence, I didn't even think about him, when I'm with Ethan i feel genuinely happy and I am distracted from all of my problems.

I needed tonight.
