Chapter 1
He's alive?!

Arden's P.O.V.

Ten years. It has been ten years since I had last seen the rest of the sins. And it had been a hundred years since I had last seen my father. The man I swore vengeance on for lying to me for all those years. I've been hanging around and keeping a low profile in a town out in the boonies called "Cains". It's far enough from the main capital, but there are still holy knights here and there. But it's usually fine since nobody knows I'm one of the sins. Because my wanted poster doesn't look a thing like me. Hell, the wanted posters don't look a thing like any of the sins. Except King's. His is pretty accurate. Anyways, I was wearing my casual outfit as I walked into a bar. It was a small bar on a hill literally just outside of town called "The Boar's Hat". Pretty funky name. I sat down at an empty table near the corner of the bar and waited for someone to come serve me.
This place seems great. There's drunk men to laugh at and seemingly good booze. Maybe I'll make this my new favourite place to hang out at.
I bit my tongue as I saw a very familiar blond coming my way to get my order. I bit my tongue even harder when I saw his eyes widen when they landed on me. I felt blood in my mouth. I sighed. That's what I get for biting my tongue like that...eww. Forgot how gross blood tasted.

I held my breath as Meliodas, the former captain of the eight deadly sins stood in front of me and asked me what I wanted to order. I sighed and told him I just wanted bernia ale. That's all I live for in this world nowadays. He nodded and walked off. I leaned back in my seat and kept one eye on him the whole time. It was strange. I thought he recognized me? Maybe he didn't. Maybe he just thought I was beautiful or something. Or perhaps he just didn't want to make a huge scene, since that would kind of give us away.  Whatever. I would just get my drink and go. Best not to hang around before he either does recognize me or he doesn't care about making a scene anymore. The captain came back over shortly after and handed me my drink. And winked at him and chugged it. I stopped chugging once I almost finished my cup. Then I leaned even further back on my chair and took the tiniest sips as I listened to some drunk guys talk about the eight deadly sins and the wandering rust knight.
"Yeah, it's kind of far fetched, right?"
"Yeah. The new holy knights wouldn't allow such dangerous criminals to live."
"Mmhmm. It's just a little lie to get children to behave. 'If you don't behave, one of the eight deadly sins will come for you in armour rusted red by blood'."
The three men giggled like little school girls and I snorted in amusement. Well...they giggled until a random dude burst into the bar. He was sweating and looked like he was about to collapse.
"I...I saw it!" He yelled.

Two out of the three men who were giggling got up and sat the guy down at their table. And ordered him bernia ale. They then started questioning him as they drank. I closed my eyes and listened. After this, I would get the hell out of here. But my curiosity made me stay.
"You...saw what exactly?" The second guy asked
"The wandering rust knight! One of the eight deadly sins!" The fourth guy replied
The three men started laughing again and I held back a chuckle.
"I'm serious! I saw it with my very own eyes! It's coming this way!" The fourth guy blurted out in a panic. I whistled softly, signalling my boredom. I finished up my drink, left the money for it on the table I was sitting at and got up. Just before I headed to the door, heavy, clunky footsteps could be heard from outside. I paused and sat back down, my curiosity making me want to see what happens. Damn. I should be called the cat sin of curiosity or something because...jeez.

The bar door burst open and in walked a knight wearing rusted armour. I bit my tongue again. Right on time. Whoever's in that suit should get a reward.  I rolled my eyes and watched as the men in the bar pushed and shoved and screamed as they ran out of the bar. I was the only one that stayed since I didn't want to get caught in that stampede of drunk men. I watched as Meliodas stood bravely in front of the knight, glaring at it. I smirked. This is going to be interesting.
