Chapter 2
Vanya Village

Arden's P.O.V.

I woke up in an unfamiliar bed that wasn't my own. I sat up and looked around. Memories of yesterday made its way into my head and I sighed, rubbing my forehead. But how'd I get in this room? I was on the roof... Unless the captain moved me in here. ...Yeah, it was probably him who moved me. Heh. I blushed just a little bit and got out of bed. I made my way downstairs.

"Morning." I yawned sleepily and waved to Elizabeth, the captain, and the pig apparently named Hawk.
"Good morning, Lady Arden." Elizabeth said with a smile. I smiled back.
"Heh. Just call me Arden, Elizabeth." I said. Elizabeth nodded.

I took a closer look at Elizabeth and realized she was wearing...a rather skimpy outfit. I bit my tongue and looked accusingly at the captain. Meliodas just smirked and winked at me. "It's the tavern uniform." He said in defense as I continued to glare at him. "You'll be wearing one, too, if it makes you feel better." He continued. I slapped him.
"No fucking way in hell am I wearing that! Outfit or not!" I stuck my tongue out. If I had my scythe I would totally bash his head it with it.

The captain rubbed his cheek where I slapped him and he sighed. "Fine." He said. I sighed in relief.
"So...why're in Vanya village again?" I asked. Meliodas smirked.
"I need to stock up on Vanya ale. And while we're here, we can gather information about the other six sins and the holy knights." Meliodas explained.

Hawk's mom came to an abrupt stop and we all fell over. Elizabeth landed on the captain and I landed on Hawk(the pig).

I got up quickly and apologized to Hawk. "Eep! Oh my god! I am so sorry, Hawk!" I gasped. I may seem little, but I actually weigh quite a bit. Hawk smiled.
"It's fine." Hawk said and waddled outside. I was about to follow him but stopped when Elizabeth called my name.

"Umm...Sir Meliodas? Lady Arden? Are you...really the criminals the world made you seem like? Because...you saved me without even knowing who I am. And if you are, then what kind of crimes did you commit?" Elizabeth asked the both of us. I paused and closed my eyes as memories from the past filled my mind. The dead bodies. The blood. The scent of death thick in the air. And my father...running like a coward. Running from the monster he had created. I sighed and turned to Elizabeth, grief clear in my eyes. I was about to speak but Meliodas spoke first. I sighed. "What kind of crime, huh?" Meliodas murmured and Elizabeth nodded.
"Ten years ago, I travelled all across Liones and stole all the panties I could get my hands on." Meliodas spoke, his voice serious but his eyes were playful. I shook my head and face palmed. Elizabeth blushed.
"P-panties?! Please tell me that's a joke!" Elizabeth gasped, her face red.
"It is." Meliodas said. Elizabeth sighed and shook her head.
"I actually travelled across Liones and groped over a thousand boobs." He said. I face palmed again, shaking my head. Elizabeth's face turned a darker shade of red.
"Please tell me your joking!" She gasped. "I am." Meliodas said. Elizabeth frowned.
"Please stop toying with me!" She said. "Or...is your crime so terrible you can't even say it?" Elizabeth asked. Meliodas paused. Then he nodded. Elizabeth frowned and then turned to me.
"What about you, Lad-...Arden?" She asked. I was silent for a few moments before responding.
"Princess, all you need to know is that there are some very bad people in this world. Who have done very bad things. Then I went outside to where Hawk was waiting. The captain and Elizabeth followed shortly after.

"Vanya village. I haven't been here in a while." Meliodas said as he looked around the town from the cliff where they had  stopped. Hawk's mom began to burrow into the dirt to hide herself. This way, they just looked like a regular bar on the hill. We began walking to the town.

"I get my liquor from all over, but Vanya's is special." Meliodas said and he began to ramble on about how it was made from the water here and the herbs along the riverbank. As we crossed over a bridge of where the water came from, I saw Hawk look over. He paused before looking back over to Meliodas.
"Looks like that famous water of theirs has gone bone dry. And the herbs along here are withered." Hawk said with a sniff. "What's going on?" Hawk continued with a sigh. The three of us looked at Meliodas. "Well, let's find out. Let's ask the town." Meliodas said. We all nodded and continued heading to the town.
