Death didn't choose you today
Fred's p.o.v
I tried to follow Fiona's scent to where she had been captured. Behind a tree, I picked it up and shifted into my hybrid. The person who hurt Sophie, was going to die and it was definetely going to be painful.
Raindrops started falling from the dark sky and it became harder for me to see where I was going, even in my hybrid form. To get me even more out of my concentration, Naveen started talking to me.
'Fred, if you do this, there's a big chance you'll die and then I'll die with you. Stephan has the weapon to kill a god and once it's ready, these guys you're heading towards, will steal it from him and use it on you. I know this may sound selfish, but I'm not ready to die yet and certainly not to go into another body.' He was speaking fast, probably because he didn't know how much time he got left.
'It MAY sound selfish? You're kidding me right. If I die, I can save my sister and Sophie. Doesn't matter who kills me, Stephan can't kill Lily after I'm dead, remember. A god can only be killed once every thousand years. Once I'm dead, they'll be safe, how can you not want that? You are selfish, Naveen. You have lived so many lives, you must die now!' I was so angry right now and I felt like I was going to explode. Naveen didn't respond. Good, now I could concentrate again.
After a couple of hours I reached some sort of bunker. It wasn't that big, but certainly big enough to house ten prisoners. I guess this was the place then. Slowly and without any sound, I reached for the door. Sniffing the air, I noticed there were only two people present. One of them was my mate. My hybrid ordered me to shift and so I did.
I ran to a door that kept my mate inside. I heard her cries and her tears falling on the floor. With all my power, I kicked it open and there she was. Her hands covered her eyes and her wrists were bloody.
'Sophie,' I whispered and she abruptly turned her head towards the sound. She looked at me, confused, but then she recognised me.
'Fred. Wait, how the hell do I know your name? Suddenly I remember everything about us, about you. All of our secret dates and...' She couldn't finish her sentence because I silenced her with one of my kisses. The ones that I had missed so much.
'I love you so much, Sophie Barrs...'
'Never forgot that,' she finished.
Our love story may not be forever, but I was not going to think about that right now.
'Welcome my young friend. May I compliment you on your looks, you look so much like your mother.' A man appeared behind us and his smirk was taking over his face. I looked at him, confused.
'Oh, I'm sorry we have not yet met. I am Greg Eskavet, but you may know me as your mother's killer.' Well at least he wasn't trying to hide his true personality. I saw that he had a girl in his arms. She looked frightened.
'Fione,' Sophie exclaimed. The girl whose name apparently was Fione, was released from his hold and she ran towards Sophie.
'I keep my promises, my young friends. The boy in exchange for you two. Go along now, get back to your pack.' He winked at them and I growled.
Something sharp entered my neck and I felt my muscles weaken. Before I lost total control, I yelled at Sophie.
'Run!' and with that she ran. My hybrid just had one more message for her.
'I love you, never forget that.'
Lily's p.o.v
My body was shaking and I almost knew for sure that I was falling apart. How could such a little thing do so much dammage?
