Forget your life
You could call this chapter a little bonus. It's some backround information about Maryse( Lily and Fred's mom). It will tell you exactly how she died and what her last day was like. Just so you know: Fred was still in the pack, but no one actually knew he was Maryse's son, or alpha Stephan's for that matter. Even Stephan didn't know at that time. It seemed like he was just a normal boy, but he happened to be Lily's best friend...
Lily's p.o.v
'Mommy, I want to go play outside!' I yelled. It was so warm today and the sun shone bright like the sun in Teletubbies. I always wanted to be that sun, but mom told me that I was too old.
'You're too old, sweetheart. Those kids are just babies, you're already a fine young lady. Being the sun, that's a dream for babies, we can't have you dreaming that now can we?' That's what she always said. I was disappointed about not being able to be the sun, but it was nice she called me a fine young lady!
'What am I supposed to dream then, mommy?' I always asked her. If I couldn't dream about being the sun, then there had to be something different to dream of! I loved dreaming, all day long while lying in the soft grass.
'You should dream about having the world at your feet because one day you will.' she answered. Everytime she told me that, I looked at my feet and tried to imagine how that would be possible. Would my feet grow so big that the world would be small compared to them or would the world shrink to the size of an ant?
'Wait a second darling, you can only go outside if Fred goes with you,' she grabbed my hand and pulled me back. She could barely hold onto my hand because of all the dolls I was holding. I walked inside with her and sat down on the couch, next to daddy.
'Go play outside, Lily, NOW,' he yelled at me. His face held anger, even when I didn't do anything wrong. I quickly scrambled of the couch en ran outside, mom yelling at me to come back and wait for Fred. My brain didn't focus on her voice though, it focused on the thought of being outside in the woods, between the beautiful trees and their branches filled with birds and insects. The deers that ran freely and the fish swimming in the river. I wanted to be them, just to be free, no mother of father who told you what to do.
I was pretty fast for a six year old. My parents could have followed me and they would have caught me, but my mom had probably mind-linked Fred already to come after me. Fred was my best friend and I always played with him, every single day. He never grew tired of me, he even played with my dolls when I asked him to. I thought it was weird for a ten year old boy to play with barbies, but I only enjoyed it because I had no one else to play with. Ten year old boys and six year old girls who were best friends, who would have guessed...
I was already halfway into the woods when I got to my secret hiding spot. It wasn't much, it looked like some tent made of leaves and braches and most people could probably see right through it, but I didn't care. It was my place to play and go on adventures. It was also the place to go when dad got mad at me for some reason. I would run away crying and my mom would be trying to calm my dad, so she didn't notice I ran off. My hut was near a river, which was nice because it covered my scent. They wouldn't be able to track my scent because of the water. Smart or not! Only Fred knew where my little hiding spot was.
'Lily, why are you crying?' I heard a boy ask. I looked up and saw Fred leaning against a tree. My hands went up to my face only to feel my wet cheeks. I hadn't even noticed I was crying. Fred walked towards me with a soft look in his eyes and hugged me. 'It's ok, Lily, don't cry. Don't listen to your dad. He's one big meany!' He was trying to comfort me, but it only made me cry harder. Tears were streaming down my face and sobs exited my mouth.
