1:32am

Tired. Sluggish. No energy. So many words for it but they all lead to one thing. Matt was exhausted. Staying in motion was all he could do to keep from passing out on the spot. Dragging one foot after the other, he made his way down the halls of the hotel. The past few days were extremely busy. From traveling, to rehearsing, to performing, Matt felt like he hadn't stopped to take a break since he began the tour. But Matt wouldn't change that for the world. He was living the dream! He was in a successful band with his best friends! What more could he ask for?

Well, probably sleep. Matt made his way into his hotel room. He didn't bother turning on the lights as he was immediately heading to bed. He shuffled through the darkness and found his way to the bedroom. He set his phone, keys, and wallet onto the table by his bed before flopping onto his bed and instantly falling asleep.

Crash!

Matt's eyes shot open to the sound of something from the kitchen. Matt grabbed his phone to check the time.

4:00am

Matt almost thought about going back to sleep and deal with whatever mess might have fallen over but then he heard a voice.

"Shit!" Hissed a feminine voice.

Matt immediately sat up, annoyed beyond belief. He figured a crazy fan must have found out where he was staying and broke into his room! Matt did truly love his fans but it was too fucking early for this!

Quietly, Matt climbed out of his bed and tiptoed out of his room and down towards the kitchen. He reached for the light switch and flicked it on to reveal the culprit. However, no one was there. Matt was stunned, he could have sworn he heard a voice. Did he imagine it? Did a fan sneak in and steal something? Matt scanned the kitchen for anything missing. His green eyes were drawn to something dangling from the air conditioning vent on the ceiling . It looked like string that led halfway down the wall to the counter, before being cut off with frayed loose ends. Matt reached up to the vent to get the string off. It wasn't really hard to reach as he was six foot one. When he did, he found that the other end had a fishing hook attached to it.

"The hell?" Matt muttered.

He started to look around the counter for more suspicious objects lying around. He found the other end of the string lying on the counter, one end frayed like the other. He also noticed a trail of crumbs by the small bag of Chips Ahoy cookies he bought from a vending machine the other day. Which was odd because he didn't even touch the cookies yesterday before the show, and now the bag was nearly finished! He had to get to the bottom of this.

He followed where the trail lead to, which was behind the toaster.

"I swear to god, there better not be fucking mice in here." He muttered to himself as he grabbed the toaster lifted it up.

A dark humanoid figure darted out from it's hiding place and ran across the counter.

"What the fuck!" Matt shouted, dropping the toaster onto the floor and breaking it. That was definitely not a fucking mouse! It looked like a tiny person! Out of a wild curiosity, Matt reached out to block the creature from escaping.

The figure skidded to a halt and started to turn back the way they came, but Matt quickly blocked their path with his other hand. He began to move his tattooed hands closer to the person to trap them.

"No!" The person shouted as they withdrew a sharp object from their side and lashed out at his left hand.

Matt howled out in pain and jerked his hand away. Blood trickled out of the small little puncture wound on his palm.
