Tears streamed down Brian’s face. Weeks has past since the death of his best friend Jimmy and he still couldn't help but cry any time he thought about it. He just couldn't believe it, one day he's just hanging out with him recording music for their upcoming album and the next, he was gone. Of course everyone was shook up by Jimmy’s sudden death. Matt, Zack, Johnny, the fans, but Brian was just overwhelmed with sorrow. The two were best friends for so long and they did so many fun things together, but now it was all gone. The guys have all tried getting together to work through this rough patch in their life, but Brian just couldn't deal with it right now. It was too much for him. He’d much rather stay in his room where he could break down alone.
“Um… hello.”
Brian snapped his head up to find a tiny girl standing on his night stand. She was about four inches tall, with a thick but fit build and her black hair was in a messy bun. She had a darker complexion but her eyes were a very light shade of blue.
He had seen this girl on multiple occasions for the past month in the kitchen. He would always try to talk to her but she would always slip away before he could get ahold of her. This was the first time she approached him.
“What is it?” He asked, wiping away tears.
The girl tensed up from the sound of his voice but brushed off any fear she may have had. “I uh…. Noticed you've been home more often than usual… and was wondering if everything was alright?”
“I just haven't been feeling like going out lately.” Brian admitted. “Sorry if being in my own house makes you uncomfortable.”
“I didn't mean it like that.” She gasped. “I just wanted to make sure you were okay.”
Brian let out a sigh. “I'm not.”
“Do you wanna talk about it?” The girl asked.
Brian gave the girl a skeptical look. He didn't understand why she now wanted to talk to him when she only ever ran from him before.
“No, don't worry about it.” He said. “Just go about your day.”
“You shouldn't bottle up your feelings, Brian.”
“How do you know my name?” He snapped.
“I've lived here long enough to know a thing or two about you.” She explained. “Now, just let it all out.”
Brian's lip quivered. “I… lost a good friend.” He whimpered.
“Gosh, I'm so sorry.” Her face darkened. “I can't imagine what you're going through.”
“He had so much more to do!” Brian snapped. Tears bursted through his brown eyes. “I just wish… I was there with him that night.”
“We all wish we could do things differently, Brian. Don't beat yourself up over it.”
“No, I was suppose to hang out with him that night.” Brian explained. “But we just got done recording… and I was just so tired… all I wanted to do was go to bed that night.” Brian buried his face in his hands and sobbed.
The girl didn't speak, but Brian heard her moving around. He assumed she was leaving, but then he felt a small warmth rub against his arm. Brian looked down to see the girl on his bed, trying to comfort him.
“It's okay, just let it all out.” She said soothingly.
“Thanks,” Brian replied, wiping a few tears away. “for listening to me.”
“You're welcome.” She said.
“What's your name anyways?” He asked.
“My name is Amina.”
