Tyler's POV
It had been almost a month since my father said we would attack the Black Moon Pack. I haven't said anything about it since the whole pack was treading lightly over the whole ordeal with Lena getting away and Sebastian and Sky being taken from us shortly after. My sister retreated into herself, sometimes she left the house for hours or even days at a time. The whole pack was getting antsy and in the past few days there's been a change, not a heavy one, but I could sense something was about to happen and soon. In the meantime I was tasked with finding my sister, again, and return her back to the house where we were to receive any news or things to do in preparation for what was to come.I shifted to cover ground faster before starting at the back of the house and looking into the tree we used to climb when we were kids and everything was normal and didn't have any luck. I alerted the guys on patrol to keep a lookout for her and let me know if they found her or if they found a scent trail. After that I started from one side of our territory and went to everyone of Taylor's spots that I had found her previously or when we would play hide-and-seek as kids. I found nothing. Just as I was heading back towards the house ready to face my father I had a hunch. It was one of those hunches you would think wouldn't be useful but I took it anyway, just in case if it turned out to be right. I turned and headed further into the woods where the trees were denser and less sunlight made it to the ground.
I traveled for almost an hour when I found the wall of thorn bushes. I looked on both sides trying to figure out how she got past and came to the realization that she must have pushed her way through and dealt with the consequences afterward. I braced myself for it and pushed my way through the wall of thorns and needles. I fell out on the other side and began picking out what ever had gotten stuck into my fur.
"You know there's a branch about six feet above the ground that would have gotten you over it much easier." a voice brought me back to reality.
I looked up and my sister was laying in front of the small lake facing away from me.
"I was always the difficult one making things so much harder for me so why are you surprised?" I asked, approaching her on the left side.
She didn't answer my question and continue to watch the still water in silence.
"Our father asked for you. He needs to give you your mission so before the rogues get here and put the plan into action." I told her.
"Tell dad to kiss my ass. I'm not going and nor am I doing a god damn thing to help you kill our cousin." she responded standing up and facing me. "I can still feel her in my head, not through the pack link but through the family link. I know dad can feel it too since every now and then he scrunches up and shakes his head in dismissal at nothing. But what I really want to know is can you still feel her?" She looked square into my eyes with a questioning look on her face with a hint of pain.
"No. I haven't felt anything from her since the day she left." I knew she would react to my answer just not how.
She didn't say anything and her expression didn't change. "That's why you're already settled with the fact that you are going to be the one to take her down if she tries to get away. Your conversation wasn't as private with dad as you thought it was. And I already know I'm the one to take down Sebastian and Sky since they wouldn't want to hurt their sister. So you can leave and tell dad that I'm not going." She turned around and laid back down in the grass as she was before.
I sighed, getting her back home was going to be harder than I thought. "You still need to come in though, dad doesn't know that you already know the plan and besides there's more too it than what you heard so you still have to come in." While part of it was true dad had in fact knew that Taylor was listening in as he was the one who opened up the link for her so she would hear.
