Youth Prime: The Beginning

Chapter 2

OK guys here is the 2nd chapter. Hope you enjoy!

After I went to my locker I went to first period along with everyone else. The rest of our class began to file in one after the other. Then almost as if it was planned, as soon as every student was seated and quiet an announcement came on from the principal; Dr.Brown.

Dr.Brown:"Good morning all students, teachers, and staff members. Today we are having some special visitors, they are here to oversee all of the activities that take place here. I believe I am correct in saying that I don't need to remind the students to be on their best behavior. That is all, and I hope you all have a productive day."

I smirk when I see my English teacher Ms.Carr roll her eyes slightly.  His little speech did sound a bit rehearsed, like it needed to be absolutely perfect. It makes me a tad bit uneasy. I try to push the feeling away, but I am snapped out of my thoughts when a man and woman enter our classroom unannounced,  and take seats in the back of the classroom.

I raise my eyebrows and look at Raquel and Tyler, they just shrug not knowing what to say about what just happened. The man seems to be in his early twenties, black hair and blue eyes. His name tag has Daniel written in black bold letters on it. The woman next to him has long dark brown hair and almost black eyes, her name tag reads Tori. I turn back to Ms. Carr and she begins a lesson on figurative language. I excel in English and answer almost every single question. But it seems to me Daniel and Tori are taking note on that. I don't like the fact that I'm being studied like a lab rat, but I just roll my eyes, and focus on the lesson.

After a period of English I go my Algebra 2 class with guess who... Mrs.Rodriguez.  Yay! (hint hint sarcasm) She's not so bad but gives homework like there is literally no tomorrow. But to get her back I try to make my work a bit sloppy and put a lot of scribbles just to inconvenience her, when she checks it. Daniel and Tori follow us to math class, that's probably going to be the situation for the rest of the day. Ugghhh

After two periods of math I literally fly out of the classroom, and wait outside for my friends to come. Christina is practically laughing her gut out with how fast I flew out. I roll my eyes but a smile finds its way onto my face.

After stopping at our lockers we head down to the cafeteria. Upon entering I see an overwhelming amount black, I roll my eyes. These people are everywhere. Regardless, Raquel, Tyler, Natalya, Christina, Ryan and I sit together at our usual table. I begin eating my lunch, and everyone else goes up to get their's.

We are all chatting away about different stuff, when all of a sudden I hear a quiet and polite voice say, "Excuse me." I turn around and see that it's Daniel.

Daniel:" Alexis I was wondering if I can have a word with you in the hallway for a minute."

I stare him down for a good minute or two but his smile never breaks, he has a backbone I'll give him that. I say ok, and nod at everyone. I follow Daniel to the hallway right next to the cafeteria, and I make sure to stand under the security camera.

Me:" So what do you want to talk about? "

Daniel:"Well my fellow associates and I work for the government.  And we want to make sure the education being provided in the schools is where it should be. So I want to ask you something? "

Me:" oh ok."

Daniel:" What do you think of the curriculum, and the teachers?"

Me: I think to myself, ' OK simple question.' So I reply saying,  "Well it's... ok I guess but I wish we could learn stuff that would be more useful in the real word. Like... knowing how to balance a check book, or even certain survival skills. As for the teachers,  we have some really good ones."

He nods and says, " OK." I assume that this conversation is over now but before I leave, Daniel calls out my name.

Me:" Yes?"

Daniel:" I just wanted to tell you that you seem like a good student, and I know that you seem to observe and study every detail that's a good thing. "

And with that he walks away.

I feel a bit confused but I ignore the feeling and head back to lunch. I pretty much brush off their questions about what Daniel wanted. Then next thing I know lunch is over. The rest of the day goes exactly like this morning, and at the end of school I feel a little tired because Coach Taylor decided to test our 'athletic abilities' or whatever. Anything from stretching,  running, strength, anything she could think of we did.

time skip

I finally get to go to sleep now after this confusing and tiring day. I try to empty my mind of all its thoughts but I soon give up fall dreamless sleep.
