"No, he didn't!" Nichole exclaimed laughing so much she was half falling off my bed. "Oh, I wish I was there! Why wouldn't we have the same dance class!" She whined pushing her body off my bed and landing on top of the rug.
Nichole, Adam, Simon and I had sat with each other in my room talking about what happened in dance class earlier.
After the music started Noah immediately started swaying his hips to the beat and added sassy hands to it. Then he went across the room and posted on the other side "So this is the Lara tries to look sexy but don't know what she's doing dance move" Noah said and blew a kiss with a wink to the air. "Then we have a bit of this, and a little bit of this and also a little bit of this" Noah said and popped out his butt swaying two times before he turned and posed again to the beat of the music.
He jumped down into a sitting position and fake hit the ground in sorrow and ran his hand through his hair "And that she thinks she's in a sad music video and her world is crumbling together. Then it wouldn't be Lara if we didn't have some Beyonce up in here" He started doing the signature single ladies move and even though people were laughing I have a hard time thinking he's embarrassed. If someone is embarrassed it's me. I don't know if it was for him telling me about how I dance which I for the record do a hundred times better, or if it was from his awful dancing. I just feel mostly embarrassed to be related to him this moment. I wanted to go up and hit the idiot so badly but stayed seated with a glare.
"The sexy helicopter hair spin, over to a horrible cartwheel which funny enough she one time did and hit her foot in the coffee table," He said and did a horrible cartwheel and landed on the floor with a loud thud. Putting his hand under his head he posed on the floor and winked at two giggling girls.
I watched him as my teeth ground against each other and- Wait. Someone saw that? Fuck. That hurt like a bitch. My foot hurt for a whole week after that.
"Okay okay, Noah. That's enough" Ms. Anderson said and turned the music off. She moved over to him and Noah stood up and did a little bow and turned his eyes to me again. Lifting his eyebrow as to say "Did you like it?"
I lifted my eyebrow as to ask "Are you really asking that?" His lip slightly turned up.
"Do you have a good reason for that?" Ms. Anderson asked. Noah can obviously dance better but she didn't look exactly surprised by his performance.
"Yes. Of course Ms. A. I just showed them that it doesn't have to be good if you just have a good time and have the crowd with you" He said. Her response was just to smile as she shook her head and I was already standing before she could talk.
"Is it okay if I danced next?" I asked and she smiled and me and nodded.
"Of course"
As Ms. Anderson moved to put on the music, I stretched and took in the watching eyes on me.
Closing my eyes as the music started I let the music take over my body. My body started going in sync to the music and my feet worked across with one goal; Show everyone here, mostly Noah that I can dance with the dance moves he just used against me like a boss.
The music was in a fast tempo but the beat was easy to follow. The dance I did involve the hip swaying and head spinning and all the ridiculous dance moves I have but actually fit them into the dance with confidence. Like someone great once said. Confidence is key and that really it the truth in it all. With dance, confidence is what makes you stand out.
At the end of the dance, I let out a breath and smile when I heard the clapping hands surround me. Looking up from my shoes I first saw Noah that was actually smiling at me making my smile widen. It was like a knowing grin and a glint in his eyes that I wouldn't miss that showed proudly. When he saw my smile at him he rolled his eyes and shook his head.
