I see Rydel walking up the path to the tree house. She has a big red mark on her cheek. Man I didn't know I hit her that bad. I feel even worse. Rydel climbs up Into the tree house and sits next to me.
"Rydel is that from me?"
"No."
"Then what's it from?" I ask and she looks down.
"Ryland hit me." She whispers. "I deserved it though I hit him first."
"Why would you hit him?"
"Because he was picking on you liking Riker."
"So you hit him? I'm sure everyone of them are. I'm sure even you are."
"That is not true Ross! I would never do that!"
"I know I'm sorry. I just can't believe you would stand up for me like that. You got hurt because of me."
"I don't really care. They need to stop that. They need to see you're a human too."
"They think it's nasty."
"That doesn't give them the right to treat you like dirt either."
"I guess not."
"See. I'm always right."
"Of course you are." I say and we laugh.
"Man the sky's getting dark." I say and reach for my bag. I pull out Riker's Hollister hoodie he gave me awhile ago.
"Yeah it is. I hope it doesn't..." As soon as Delly starts to say that it starts down Pouring. "Rain."
"It'll stop soon. Come here." I say and move to the center of the small tree house so rain won't hit us as much. Maybe only a few rain drops. I open my arms for Rydel and she comes sits next to me. We cuddle up to each other trying to stay warm. This wasn't such a good idea.
