Chapter 18 - Loophole

First I want to thank you all for the lovely messages I've been receiving from you.  It pushes me to keep writing. I'm so glad you all liked it.

This new chapter is something, we're getting there... I'm excited for the things to come. This and the next 3 or 4 chapters will be about the chapter 5 of the game. So for those who didn't play yet, here is the warning. There will be spoilers :P

Colin managed to create a loophole in CRA Group system which was the perfect opportunity to leak information about their rotten business. I instructed him to dig deep down into their actions to collect material so we could compromise their image. People see me as a financial shark in New York. A genius in finance to keep buying and liquidating or selling or simply buying up the business, then making some adjustment here and there to match our style and to increase our business and make even more money. Well, at least this is definitely the facade. I do know a lot about management, finance and how to make a company make money. I'm not rich just because I simply am. My motivation by itself wouldn't help that much. Actually, I need all the money to lead the real moto of Carter Corp. So yeah I kind of know what I'm doing in this field, but my real reason to do that though is to stop companies like CRA group. It drives me crazy when I see those companies making money by exploiting children. I've been working every day to help associations grow in Third World countries, investing in a whole load of charities to safeguard or extend human rights. To see a company destroying all of my efforts to change their tough reality drives me crazy. I need to stop CRA group.

Colin and Mark are on this mission with me. They are my right and left hand to achieve all of this. I try to preserve them as much as I can. I'm always the face of everything, when something goes wrong I do my best to preserve Colin and Mark, but now I have to deal with this situation. Something happened, the CRA group connected it to us and reported us to the FBI. Colin's never left a trace. I have to figure out what happened.

As soon as we landed in New York we left Rory at home and went straight to Carter Corp.

I'm on the elevator when suddenly it's doors open to reveal nothing more than Aria. I look at her smiling faintly. I shift to the back of the elevator as if to give her space.

As is the custom, no one steps in with her and the doors close on the silence. She looks at me and I look at her. I appreciate her presence. She's so similar to Colin and there's something clearly wrong with her. - "Hello, you."

"Hello, sir."

"How are you?"

She looks up at me and answers. - "I've seen better days."

What is the problem here, Is Colin giving her the cold shoulder because of the CRA group? - "I'm sorry to hear that." - I said genuinely.

She hesitates, looking embarrassed before answer me. - "I think I'm the heart of the problem."

"What do you mean?" - she's implying that Colin thinks she betrayed us?

"I feel ridiculous talking about it with you! I mean, you're my boss ..."

No, it's not that! Thank God.

"You're right, it's not customary, but we've talked a bit about it before." - She laughs quietly, nodding her head. - "Even if it was different every time."

"And you?"

Excuse me? I feel like my moment with Rory is all over my face.
